Time to get married!

My fianc and I have committed to going the route of a CR-1 visa and are now trying to plan our wedding quickly so that we can get the ball rolling. The current plan is to fly into the USA and apply for a marriage license, Sign it and after a required three day waiting period we will have a small ceremony in her yard with a pastor and her kids and a few local friends to bear witness. I will then return to Canada to start my 14 day quarantine and we can start the CR-1 process. We do have a concern about me entering the country with the intent of marriage. I do have to be truthful about my intentions when I am at the airport going through customs. And when I tell them I am intending to enter the country to marry my fiance and return to Canada are they going to believe me? Or is it likely they will refuse my entry? Does anyone happen to have any knowledge or experience on this subject? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hello everyone,

My fiancee successfully entered the USA on a K1 visa 2 weeks ago. We have just moved into a new apartment (before filing adjustment of status).

Do we need to update our addresses anywhere? Or just be sure to update the information when we file for AOS?

Thanks VJ community!

Canadian in the US - When To Go Back

Hello all,

My Canadian fianc and I, the petitioner, are in the US currently.

We counted our days, and it looks like in the beginning of September, it will be about 180 days that he s been in the US. Every place I read online, I see that the maximum amount of time a Canadian can stay in the US is 182, or approximately 6 months .

During this pandemic, does this timeframe still apply? I m just curious. I don t want him to face repercussions for staying in the United States for too long, especially since we are at the end of our K1 Visa Process. Just wondering if anyone has seen anything about this.

Hello. I recently was approved for my Green Card (GC) due to the approval dates changing in the USA. My lawyer says it's in the mail. My lawyer, however, is paid by my company and will not assist me with family related GC issues. Unfortunately, my soon-to-be spouse and I were not able to get married before the green card approval was issued. This obviously was a huge mistake.

My goal now is to get my spouse into the US on a Green card. I am not sure which guides to follow, but I'd like to know where to start. Here are some points:

1) I will have possession of my GC in a couple of weeks.

2) My spouse-to-be and I are both Canadians.

3) I intend to marry my spouse in September.

4) My spouse has a profession that qualifies for a TN visa.

Here's what I know:

Resource #1 - spouse should be considered F2A: https://www.uscis.gov/green-card/green-card-eligibility/green-card-for-family-preference-immigrants

Resource #2 - She should go through Consular processing as she is in Canada presently: https://www.uscis.gov/green-card/green-card-processes-and-procedures/consular-processing

Here are my Questions:

What are all the forms I'll need? I know the I-130 + I-485 are the key ones. Do I just file them together?

If we file the forms, can she THEN go apply for a TN Visa to work in the USA for a while?

Alternatively, if she find a job in the US first under a TN Visa and THEN applies for I-130 with I-485, is that okay? She would need an Advance Parole application to go through in order to leave and re-enter the country at that point because of the TN status + AOS status right?

Thank you in advance, Visajourney folks.

I sent in my I485 RFE for my medical 68 days ago, and still have not heard anything about it "being received" on my case status online. I called a rude representative and she said that they do not update RFEs, and that it will just be decided. Does anyone know if this is for real?
