Just a house keeping day today. The fiance has not been employed for the past 2 years as he has been in school. However, has since started working this June 2020. And makes well over the poverty amount. My question is: What documentation is sufficient to prove that he can support me? Or would it be more indicated to have a joint sponsor fill out the I-134? I've read mixed things about this. Anyone have a similar predicament? Thank you! x

Hi everyone! Hope you're all keeping sane during this crazy time in our lives. I have not received NOA2 yet; I am just trying to gather the documents I need for the interview as things are closed and things are taking longer than usual to process. Regarding the vaccines for the K1 visa - there are a couple of them that I do not have; please refrain from starting a moral debate. Would a note from my family physician be sufficient to be a waiver for exemption? Thank you! x

Hello everyone, like so many of you, my fianc and I are patiently waiting for our embassy to reopen for interviews. Since we want to be as prepared as possible to prevent any further delays at the interview stage, I was wondering if anyone has an exhaustive list for reasons a case can go into administrative processing after the interview? I know the basic reasons - background check, incorrect documents, original copies of documents needed, etc. but does anyone have a complete list? Thanks

Hi again! After getting married last fall on a K-1 visa, we're now needing a passport renewal for my wife, so on top of that we should do the report of marriage. For ROM, the instructions here are a bit unclear and we want some confirmation before sending out some important documents. - For Requirement #1, do we need to get 5 forms notarized (1 for each packet), correct?
- For Requirement #2, marriage contract/certificate/license/record are all similar but different terms. We have a sealed certified copy from the courthouse. I'm guessing that's what they want, correct?
- For Requirement #3, do we both really need to send our physical passports in for ROM? Or what is a "certified true copy"? Is that something done at a notary? We're not traveling internationally soon so we could send in our physical passports, but that's one more valuable thing that could get lost and delayed.
- For Requirement #4, it says "such as" but that list doesn't include birth certificate. She has her green card, but she didn't have that at time of marriage. So would that be the K-1 insert in the passport?
Requirements 5 through 8 are self-explanatory. We might have questions on passport renewal later, but for now just want confirmation on what the requirements mean.

-Currently in the process of K1 (Canada to US). Was a week from our interview in March before it was canceled. -Advice from attorney: Abandon K1, file concurrent I-130 and I-485 (along with other necessary forms) from within the US. This is based off the fact she has been in the US with me since borders closed in March. She can only be here for 6 months total, and we don't want her to have to go back and not be able to reenter. He also based his reasoning on the fact that he thinks the borders will remain closed for a long time along with the embassies. Good or bad idea?
