US Immigration from Canada

Hi all, so we got an automated messaged after getting DQ'd indicating that we need a joint sponsor. We made a mistake on the I-864 (which has been corrected and the correct version will be taken to the interview). The original one that we submitted didn't show our assets or our household member's assets, which is likely why we got the message.

Anyways, the total household size would be ~ 15 and our assets combined with their assets are close to USD $950K.

My question is - do we really need a joint sponsor for this? We have a back up joint sponsor just in case, and we will be filling out the additional joint sponsor form. However, we don't plan on submitting it to NVC but will bring the copy with us to the interview to provide to the consulate officer if they ask for it. Is this allowed? I'm just a little confused because I feel as though our assets are much more stronger and higher than what our joint sponsor has.

We're in F3. Scheduled for Montreal if that helps.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Hi guys. What the question says. Hypothetically can someone submit N-400 application and then down the road change their mind and just stay a permanent resident ? How would that be done? Thanks.

For anyone needing a passport stamp because your 18 month extension letter has expired, infopass appointments can now only be scheduled within 10 days of expiry of your extension letter (or current passport stamp). In mid-March, I was able to book an infopass appointment within 30 days of my letter expiring. My passport stamp will expire on 15 September so I called today for an appointment and was told the new time-frame of 10 days, not 30. (The lady did not care that I am starting a new job next week and wanted a stamp that is valid for more than 3 weeks - she said I could get an emergency appointment if the new job would write a letter saying they cannot hire me without a new stamp, which is ridiculous.)

Anyway, since my estimated completion date is supposed to be August 2020, I asked if there was any movement with my file - there have been no updates on my USCIS account. She said my file was now at my local office and I would have a combo I-751/N-400 interview soon. Forgot to ask what date my file was transferred. Here's hoping my interview will happen soon so I don't have to keep getting passport stamps.

I thought the infopass information might be helpful for anyone with expiring extension letters.

we moved this month to a new place. Old place doesn t close until end of the month. Same town.

should I submit n-400 now under old address etc or submit under new one ? I m thinking of just submitting under old address given I have to change my drivers license etc.

I already have USPS start forwarding my mail.

Am I ok to use old address?
