Hi guys. I just filed a week ago. What s the turnaround time for biometrics ? Do I get to make my own appointment? I am traveling and will be away for a few weeks so was hoping I have at least a month between filing and having to do biometrics. if letter /appt comes sooner than I can return home can I go to an out of state USCIS office for the biometrics or it has to be in my district ? Thank you.

We are finalizing our I-751 package. We emailed our lawyers' assistant about a few questions, and we feel like we didn't get straight answers. Anyone want to weigh in? QUESTION ONE: Other Names Used (p.1, 2a, 2b, 2c): Some of our supporting evidence, such as cards and mail addressed to us, uses Ali (instead of the legal Alexandra). We have never told USCIS that Ali goes by Ali day to-day, as it is not her legal name. Should this section be filled out? - Answer: Ali s name is Alexandra, which is what she has on her green card. It is also her legal name on her birth certificate so we have to use Alexandra.
In the past, we have had enough supporting evidence addressed to Alexandra to be able to omit the Ali's, but not this time around. Is it necessary to fill out this section if we will be including cards from our friends and family addressed to Ali? I feel like if we don't, it will create some confusion? QUESTION 2: Information About Your Children (p.3, part 5): We have no children. We weren't sure if the answers should all be 'None' or left blank. If we must fill out, should we answer 'None' for Child1, Child2, Child3, Child4, Child5, or just Child1? QUESTION 3: Accommodations for Individuals with Disabilities and/or Impairments (p. 5, part 6, questions 1,2,3) Ali has no disabilities or impairments. We weren't sure if the answers should all be checked 'No' or left blank. - Answer: You have to answer all questions. If any questions do not apply to you, you should answer no. Do not leave blank or immigration will reject the application.
So...... None? No? Ahhhhh!

Hello! I immigrated on an IR1 visa to the USA on March 20th, 2020. I paid my green card processing free on the 19th of March, 2020 (the day before.) After 120 days of no green card and no update from the USCIS, I submitted an inquiry. They stated that my green card is in processing and that it will be processed and sent within 30 days on the 17th of August, 2020. Today (September 4th, 2020) I received a text notification from the USCIS that my case has been updated and that I need to log onto their website to check the status of my case. I log in to both versions of their website, and my case has been wiped from my account. I went in to add my case again, using my receipt number, an once more it states: "Case number invalid" I tried without hyphens, with hyphens, etc. Has this happened to any of you? Should I be concerned?

Hi Guys , I have a question. I was granted. CR1 ( Visa was issued before 2 years marriage date) However, I entered after my 2 year mark so technically I am expecting a 10 year green card. Upon entry, I was given a notice to conditional permanent resident alien slip which I signed. It says a petition must be filed to have the conditional basis of my status removed within 90 days immediately preceding the 2nd anniversary of the date i was granted conditional permanent resident status. Does anyone know what this means?

This is a small bit of premature paranoia on my part because we just got the application sent in a week ago, but I'm still worried about it. We have been having a lot of problems with our mail lately. Like no mail for more than a week now. I've signed up for the service where USPS emails you scanned copies of what mail you're expected to get that day, so I know there was mail that was supposed to arrive (including some very important non-immigration mail) and never did. Neighbors are up in arms about it, and one said they talked to the local post office manager who said they are way behind and that 10 mail carriers have quit in the past month. This makes me really worried for USCIS mail, such as biometrics appointments. Have people had issues with this? Can you reliably get this information online or over the phone? If I was able to get an e-mail preview showing mail coming from USCIS, is there someone I could call to ask what that mail was about, or an appointment date, if the notification never arrives? Also, how much lead time is there generally between receiving notice of a biometrics appointment and the actual date of the appointment?
