Hi everyone! K-1 filer here! I was looking around the immigration steps and just have a few questions about the process of filing for AOS after entering the USA. I will be travelling to the USA this coming Nov 18 (soon!) So I understand after entering I will be going to get my SSN as soon as possible, and while doing that we are getting our marriage license and getting married ASAP as well. Somewhere between then I will also be applying for the REAL ID since I understand it has to be done before the i-94 expires. My question follows: - I see in the K1 AOS immigration timeline that there is a form called I-693 that I have to fill in. Do I have to do another medical again since it was done before I left Canada? If yes are there specific ones that do it? For information I did my Medical in August of 2020, since it is barely 1 year old is there a need for another one? If no, how do I indicate on the I-693 form that I have a valid overseas medical done by an approved physician? -I see we also have to fill in another I-864 affidavit of support so I assume all the same supporting documents I gave for my interview. Potential question: While waiting for the approval of the EAD/AP, since I will be marrying an active duty military personnel, there is a high chance during his time that he may be getting his new post in the next 9 months or so - if my AP isn't approved by then and it turns out his new post will be abroad, what can I do in regards to my AP? Without it I cannot leave and come back to the USA from my understanding? Does anyone have any experience with dealing with active duty military personnel's getting their PCS before you were approved for AP? Thanks everyone! Appreciate any input

Hi there, I was hoping someone could provide me with some suggestions or feedback as to what the best options are to immigrate to the NYC. I asked a similar question a little while ago but a few things have changed since then. The situation is the following: - I am a Canadian\British citizen that is currently running my own business. We have two seperate entities one in Wyoming and one in London.
- I am currently in Toronto.
- My wife is Canadian and immigrated to NYC last September on an TN visa, we were not married at that time but are now.
- My company is in the middle of a seed round raise, aiming to raise over $1m USD (if that helps).
The goal is that I can move to NYC with my wife, I want to work and run my own company. We will be hiring employees in the new year in the US entity. So my question is what is the best visa to apply for? I was looking at L1, E2, EB2, EB5, TN. Is there anything else I should consider? or any suggestion would be most welcome. Thanks in advance, Stas

Hi all, My wife and I filed for I-751 in March of 2019. It's being processed at the Nebraska Service Center. The last update was in March of 2020, saying that the case is ready to be scheduled for an interview. Back in September, with the 18-month extension letter close to expiration, we traveled to the USCIS office in Milwaukee for my wife to get a stamp in her Canadian passport as advised by many. However, my wife's Canadian passport expires in March. The people at USCIS told my wife that before the date of expiration in March, she needs to go back to USCIS with a new Canadian passport and get a new stamp. My question is, is this necessary? From everything I've read, you are legal until your I-751 case is decided. My wife has a steady job and we do not plan on traveling out of the country until she is a citizen. The process to get a new Canadian passport (she took my last name so she can't just renew, it needs to be a brand new one with her new name) is lengthy and expensive, and my fear is that we will get an interview for her I-751 case before her passport even arrives, and we'll have wasted money for nothing. My wife is terrified of having an expired passport and worried that she will be deported, especially if she arrives for her I-751 interview with an expired passport, but my understanding is that USCIS wouldn't care about her Canadian passport at her interview - she's there to extend her permanent residence here, not in Canada. My wife is literally losing sleep over this so any help or advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you! Edit: I noticed my signature below is very out of date. Haven't logged into here in years!

My husband (usc) has filed the i130s for myself and my daughter (his step daughter). They ve been approved and we re at the NVC stage. Since she will be under the age of 18 when we move, does she automatically get citizenship when we move?
