So we are years from even applying for my husband's citizenship but just to see what was required and what I needed to save for the next couple of years I was looking at the N 400. I saw that you must register with SS if you are 18-25 and my husband is 24, turning 25 next month. For some reason I never saw anything about this when we applied for the green card but I read USCIS may give information to SS. So do we need to register him or will USCIS do that? As of now there is no record of him but he just recently got his green card and his SSN still says only valid for employment. If we do have to register him ourselves do we need to wait for a proper SSN with no restrictions?

My husband got his EAD this summer and shortly after was auto sent a SSN card (we did not apply for the SSN) that states only valid for employment. He now just recently got his green card and we are wondering will he get sent a new SSN with no restrictions or do we need to apply for one? Unfortunately the offices here are not allowing appointments except for new applicants with no SSN so in order to apply we would have to send his passport and green card so he'd be without both for a week.

My fianc e (the Canadian beneficiary) and I have been putting our K-1 packet together, and I've been reading all the guides, looking at examples and other people's finished packets, and I'm aware that proof of ongoing relationship is not required for the I-129F stage, but also that some people include it. I've been gathering and organizing this material anyway (chat logs, video call screenshots, evidence of gifts and cards we've exchanged, conversations with each other's relatives) for her interview and so we can choose what we want to include now, but I know that Canada isn't a "high fraud" country and most reviews of the Montreal consulate describe the interview experience as very simple. Would there be any value in us including relationship evidence now, or should we save it for the interview stage? We have plenty of evidence to choose from, but I also don't want to bore the officer if it won't help at this stage. For the record, I believe our evidence of meeting within the last two years is strong (passport stamp, boarding passes, tickets, receipts, my fianc e's I-94 record, a short letter of affadavit from one of my family members and one of hers confirming that we visited/met them/they're happy for us, and a selection of photos from our meetings with obvious landmarks/events in the background, meeting with relatives, and photos that match ticket stubs we're including); and for evidence of intent to marry, we're including our signed intent to marry letters and our engagement ring receipts. Should we stick to this, or would it help to include any of the other relationship evidence at this stage?

Hi, US Citizen here ( I know... I know ) who has Canadian Permanent residency where my PR Card expires in 8 months. I've moved back to the USA due to a Family Emergency, and I then later on married my Canadian Citizen Wife. I've also since transferred back to my US Company and my wife and I have lived here ever since. I'm trying to figure out how to apply under SItuation 1 for living outside of Canada. Question 12 of IM5444e is where I'm being stumped. My wife's parents still live in BC, and hence we are using their address for any Canadian mail we may receive, such as a T5 tax form, so we can use that for Question 13. What to do about Question 12? It won't let me put in my US Address. Do I just use the same address as what was answered in Question 13, even though I don't actually live there? Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone, I am a K1 visa beneficiary and supposed to return to school in US from leave of absence next spring. However, I am still awaiting NOA2 and based on the current timeline it seems like I may not be able to obtain K1 visa before returning to school . I was wondering if the double application for the two visas (F1, K1) would be allowed. Thank you for all the help!!
