Not having a job during K1 Interview

Hey guys! My fiance and I are having a tough time during this covid situation as is most everyone else I'm sure. At a normal pace we should be getting pretty close to our interview stage and at this point we've used up all of our vacation pay for visits and didnt plan on doing any more. Also Canada has the 2 week quarantine in place so each time we want to visit its an entire month off work. We were thinking of her just coming to visit for like 4-6 months but were not sure if she would pass the interview for not having a job. Shes had her job for 9 years and has about 15k+ in her savings. Any thoughts on what we could do?

Hi all, I wanted to know what your thoughts are on me applying for an expedite for my k1 visa due to my damaged lungs. I was born with cerebral palsy and my fianc e won t let me visit on a plane because of it. I was thinking about requesting an expedite because I am higher risk during the pandemic and I wanted to know what your thoughts on if I would be successful or not?

Expired Petition

Hey guys,

So our K1 Visa Petition expired on July 15th 2020, obviously this was during the time the consulate in Montreal was closed (and still is) for K1 Visa Processing.

Now, I heard from people on here that because it was their fault, I just needed to bring a renewed letter of intent to marry with me to my interview.

Our approved petition was sent to Montreal and was received on the 30th of April when everything was closed down.

I didn't receive a P3 yet for this reason.

Now the thing is, I haven't completed form DS-160 yet, I was having trouble getting my travel records back for my US travel history.

Does the fact I haven't completed the DS-160 form mean that it was actually my fault that things were delayed past the point of my petition expiring?

Keep in mind the approved petition notice letter from NVC forwarding the petition to Montreal didn't arrive until April 20th and Montreal received it on April 30th (via the CEAS status tracker).

I'm quite worried now thinking about this.

I have my Case Number but no Invoice ID number.

Questions about disabled petitioner filing for K-1 visa

We're not filing yet, but I want to make sure that I have this all figured out before we do.

I (the American petitioner) am disabled and currently receiving social security disability benefits (which I will lose after getting married, but that's mostly beside the point here). Because I have been disabled since before I was old enough to work, I have no work history, and because I receive no taxable income, I do not file taxes. I'm worried about how this will look in our paperwork and if Immigration will deem it suspicious. I have a few questions here:

1. On the I-129F, should I explain the above in the "additional information" section? Should I write "unemployed" in the "name of employer" section?

2. When it comes time for the I-134, I do not meet the income requirements, but I have a relative who is willing to be a joint sponsor (co-sponsor? are those the same thing?), who can cover the required income amount in full. Do I also need to fill out the form, even though I make no taxable income? If so, should I put down what I get from social security as income?

(As a side note, money for fees/living expenses while my fiancee cannot yet work in the US will not be an issue. My fiancee works, has savings, I have some savings, and I have family who can help us.)

3. Is any of this complicated enough that we should seek out a lawyer, or does it seem like we'll be fine?

I'm probably overthinking all this, but I just worry. I'm anxious not to get anything wrong or give us any reasons to be denied.

Questions about DS-160 Form etc.

Hey y'all, I have a couple questions!

First Question - When looking over the DS-160 form (just trying to gather what I need and get ahead for when the consulate in Montreal finally reopens), theres a section that asks for you to document all the times you have entered the United States from entry date to exit date. The problem is, I live in a border town and have done for the past almost 11 years now since. I've crossed back and forth into the United States almost every other weekend since then (from the age of 13) even for day trips to the shopping malls and grocery stores around Buffalo, NY.

When I met my fianc , we started taking turns going back and forth across the border to visit one another on weekends. He'd come one weekend and I'd go down to Buffalo the next.

I truly don't have any idea how many times I've been in the United States. Not to mention the family trips to Florida I would take every year from the age of 6 months-12 years of age before I immigrated to Canada.

Is there any way to get a comprehensive list that would tell me all the times I've travelled with dates of entry and exit even? I can't get any further with the DS-160 form at the moment because this looming part.

Second Question - When you check your case status on the CEAC website using the case tracker what is the difference between the first ready and the second ready? With all the stress of everything and having to reschedule our wedding I hadn't paid too much attention to what it said in the little box underneath the "Ready" part.

Third Question - I was planning on flying from Canada to the US in a few weeks as travelling to the US by air is still allowed for now. I've checked and saw that they're still granting ESTA's which led me to believe that VWP countries are still allowed to enter too. My ESTA is still valid so I don't need to apply for another, however I do get an I-94 when I travel by land which lasts me 3 months, I haven't travelled by air to the US in years, but I read its just given with the stamp when you fly into the country. I also saw that travellers from the UK are only banned if they've been present in the country in the last 14 days.

I'm a Canadian Permanent Resident with a UK passport, I've lived in Canada since 2009 I know that routine visa services have been suspended but since the I-94 isn't an actual visa will I still be allowed into the US if I fly there?

Again I have a valid ESTA already and haven't been present in the UK in the past 14 days. I just want to make sure everything will be okay before I book any flights.

Thank you all!
