Hi everyone, My fiance and I applied for our K-1visa on August 27th 2020. We still have not received our NOA2. We also have not received any RFE. I have planned the move to the United States from Canada for the end of July. We thought that we had given ourselves a good buffer but with Coronavirus everything is delayed. In April we requested a follow-up on our case and 2 weeks later sent us an email basically saying "I know this is frustrating but we're working on it.". We just submitted another request and are supposed to get a response June 30th, but I'm worried were just going to get the same thing. We are anxious to start living together but I can't make any plans until we know this has been approved at the minimum. I have a few questions: Should we just switch to a K-3 Visa, or will that delay things even further? If this response has no information again, how to we contact the USCIS more directly (phone)? Has anyone ever been denied after such a long wait time? Has anyone been requested an RFE after such a long wait time? Thank you, A

K-1 visa, but without applying for permanent residency? Hey all! (Sorry about my English!): I m engaged to an American citizen. We applied for the K-1 in 2020, and got our NOA2 last March. I was originally supposed to come live with my fianc once the visa process done, and apply for permanent residency. HOWEVER, plans have since changed: I got into a PhD program in Canada (where I currently live), and we now plan to continue long-distance for the next four years. We do still absolutely want to get married. Can we simply get married in the US once the K-1 approved, and instead of applying for permanent residency, can I just go back to Canada - and continue to visit the US back and forth during my program -? In an ideal world we would like to follow through with the K-1, but we re just not sure it makes sense anymore We also heard we should give up on the K-1, as I do not intend to settle in the US for now, and simply get married in the US on a tourist visa - apparently authorized if you do not intend to stay but seems tricky -... We're not in a hurry, and want to make sure we choose the most legal way! Feeling pretty lost here! Any insight would be greatly appreciated...

Hello! I'm finally at the stage where I've gathered my documents, received my P3, and am ready to email the consulate per their instructions. I have set up the subject line appropriately, I have my scanned DS-160 confirmation, color bio page of my passport, and the competed checklist. I'm just overthinking (as I do) and I'm not sure if I'm supposed to include something in the body of the email? I've followed the instructions specifically and I know they don't state having to send an actual message, but I'd just like to make sure and confirm!

Hi everyone. We've just submitted our I-129 and VisaJourney recommends having a replica for the fiance to bring to their interview. The package I submitted was two hole punched per the guidelines. For the interview, will it matter if the documents are three hole punched? It'd be much easier for him to have the copy of documents in a binder and finding two hole punch binders isn't easy. Thanks in advance!

Hey there, I'm a Canadian applicant of a K1 Visa with intent to immigrate to the US. My fiancee and I received our NVC Case # Mid-March 2021, and have been waiting to receive our email/letter. But when I go to ceac.state.gov.iv to check my application status, the only thing it shows is instruction to fill out a DS-160. Is this normal? Any help is greatly appreciated.
