I129 Credit Card Payment Question |

I d like to use the credit card payment option when I file my petition. Partially to get the points and also because it s less hassle than having someone from the US send me a money order (I live in Cambodia). I m going to call my card company and make sure they know a charge is coming from the states so it doesn t get blocked. I d like to fill out 2 G-1450 forms with 2 different credit cards and a notation to use the other one if one is declined. Both cards are wide open with no balance, you just never know when Visa will randomly block a transaction they flag as suspicious and I d rather provide the processing center with another card to try instead of rejecting my application. Is this a good/bad/feasible idea? Should I just use the money order?

Another Joint Sponsor Question |

Hypothetical situation: I have the option to use 1 of 2 potential joint sponsors. One makes $50k a year retirement income and one makes $24k a year working income, both with stable income history. Obviously, I d like to use the higher income but I may not have that option. Assuming that I am required to have a joint sponsor, will immigration favor one over the other, or are they only concerned about meeting the income threshold?

I ve been finding conflicting answers. At the time of the interview, I have to submit affidavit of support (either alone or with joint sponsor), correct? Do I also have to submit it again (either alone or with joint sponsor) for AOS? If I use a joint sponsor, can it be the same person for both?

I m looking to file my petition within a few weeks but I will not return to the US and find a job until April. I plan to be working at the time of our interview. However, at that point I will have been unemployed with zero income for 2 years and I do not have sufficient assets to meet the asset requirement. Worst case scenario (unlikely but I d rather plan for it) is I don t have a job at the time of interview. So I will use a joint sponsor. This person has well over the required income and assets. How does this work? Is it acceptable if that person has income/assets and I don t?

Hello VJ Members, My wife just recently became a US Citizen as of 10/30/19. She is now wanting to petition for both of her parents to the US. However, she is currently a stay at home mom with no income. I know that I will have to be her co/joint sponsor since we have join our finances and I am the only income earner. During Visa/CEAC stage would she be consider the primary sponsor/petitioner and I would be the secondary sponsor/petitioner? Its a bit confusing and any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks!
