My wife and I live in Las Vegas. We received USCIS updates this week that her EAD card was approved Monday and then mailed Thursday. Yesterday (Saturday) I got an update from USCIS saying the card was delivered to our mailbox and it gave us the USPS tracking number. No card in our mailbox. Went to the USPS website, and it shows it delivered yesterday to mailbox in Houston 77080. We have no connection to Houston. I'm wondering what might be going on. Maybe USCIS just gave me the wrong tracking number for someone else whose card was mailed on the same day from Corbin, Kentucky to Houston. Maybe my wife's EAD card hasn't been approved at all and I'm getting updates for someone else entirely, who lives in Houston. Or maybe my wife's EAD card was approved and then mailed to Houston for some reason. I'll wait and see if it arrives tomorrow before taking this up with the post office and USCIS but does anyone have any info or ideas in the meantime? Has this happened to anyone else?

CA - Confidential Marriage - Experiences? |

I ve searched this forum and the internet and am getting a lot of conflicting (albeit mostly anecdotal) feedback on getting a confidential license & marriage in California. I m only interested in feedback from people who have done this successfully, people who have had problems with it, or people who have real working knowledge of this specific issue. Not looking for anecdotal speculation, inexperienced opinion, or repeating something you read somewhere before. I want the confidential license & marriage for 2 reasons: 1.) I am estranged from my [deleted], destructive family and I don t want them in my business. It ll be nothing but drama and headache and there s a very good reason I ve cut them out of my life. 2.) I ve spent the better part of a year having my personal information removed from Google, data brokers, data mining companies, and marketing databases. My information was part of the Equifax breach and I ve spent a lot of time mitigating risk by reducing my digital footprint and reinforcing my privacy. The less of your personal information is out there, the better. My personal privacy is very important to me. If I get scrutinized by USCIS, I ll be happy to provide documentation of these things and explain myself. I ve got nothing to hide. I ve read of couples who did the confidential route on a K1 and had no issues. I ve read tons of posts saying not to do this because it s a guaranteed problem/red flag/denial/stokes/etc yet I have not found a single person who actually experienced trouble with it. Feedback from anyone who has actual experience with this is greatly appreciated.

Between the time of filling for K1 AOS and the appointment date, are there any precautions/advisements for the beneficiary? I ve heard stay in the house as much as possible from a few people but I d like to hear some feedback. I assume that he needs to carry his passport for ID with him all the time, but aside from staying out of trouble, is there any reason to hide in the house? He s obviously going to have a lot of free time and I d like us to explore our city and possibly take some small trips within the U.S. while waiting for an appointment after getting married and filing for AOS. We will also be applying for EAD at the same time.

I ve heard Los Angeles County takes 6-12 weeks. Anyone have any (much) shorter times to receive their marriage certificate from a different county/area? I ll travel to avoid waiting that long for the certificate.
