Do I really need a joint sponsor?

I returned to the US after 2 years abroad a few months ago. After handling some family affairs and settling back in the US I am now starting a new job this week.

Our petition is at the embassy and I am guessing our interview will be sometime in the next 1-3 months. I will be making well over (+2x) the Federal Poverty Guidelines starting this week. I have no tax returns for the last 2 filing years as I wasn't required to file. I have a joint sponsor lined up but I can't seem to find an answer as to whether or not I will actually need a joint sponsor now that I am working. Can I sponsor my fiance by myself or do I still need a joint sponsor?

Any chance of getting an interview sooner than the embassy schedule?

The embassy schedule shows that their interviews are now out to Feb 10. This is fine, I'm not trying to make it happen sooner. I'm just wondering if we file the DS160 now, is there a chance that they could schedule us for an earlier date? I'm trying to coordinate with my joint sponsor and I don't want to get caught off guard.

Interviewer couldn't approve I-485 today because of possibly "expired" medical?

My K-1 fiancee had her medical exam in Cambodia in June (I think) 2019. I may have been in May, may have been July.

She then interviewed for her K-1 visa and entered the USA in August 2019.

She filed her I-485 application for adjust status in November 2019.

Her AoS interview was originally scheduled for April, then rescheduled for today.

Everything went OK at the interview today, but the interviewer said he couldn't approve today because the medical was over a year old now (more than a year before the interview), and he had to check if there was a COVID-related extension.

I told him that I'm not an expert on this stuff ,but I thought filing the I-485 within a year of the medical exam preserved its timeliness and that the interview date then didn't matter.

He said he would have to look into it and talk to some people but we might be getting an RFE for more medical info.

Any thoughts?

Hello,

We will file to remove conditions on 12/30/20 (90 days prior to expiration date)

We are to travel to Jamaica for my sister's wedding from 02/17/21 - 02/23/21 (assuming we are able to travel with COVID going on )

Bringing a baby to AoS interview (and other related questions)

My wife filed her I-485 in November. Part 6 asked her to list all her children, she truthfully stated that she had no children.

She gave birth to our son in July.

Her AoS interview is scheduled for early next month.

I have three questions.

1. Does she need to file any kind of supplement or amendment to her I-485, changing her answer to that question?
2. What documents should we bring about the baby's birth other than his birth certificate?
3. Should we bring the baby to the interview? The scheduling letter asks us to bring proof of the relationship. The baby (who looks a lot like me) presented in person is pretty compelling proof.

However, the letter also says don't bring any family members unless they are part of the petition, and I know people are extra cautious about COVID these days.

Unfortunately, we have no other family members who could watch him, as my family all lives thousands of miles away. With the lockdowns and everything I imagine there aren't any day care type centers open where we could leave him. We could leave him with a neighbor, but that's a bit of an imposition, and would seem to violate government recommendations about staying at home and not mingling with people from other households. Leaving a four month old baby home alone would be a crime, of course.

If we showed up with the baby and said "We didn't have anyone to leave him with" do we risk that they'll just cancel the interview on the spot and/or be angry about this?
