My petition has been collecting dust at the Nebraska SC since October. I ve seen soooooo many people on here who have gotten approvals in just a couple of months. My timeline on here has said past due for over a month now. I sent everything they wanted and more, and even if I didn t am I not entitled to an RFE? I paid their fee. What the eff is wrong with these people? Do they not understand the concept of first come first serve? It s infuriating.

Hey! Hope everyone is good and safe. I have a question about my case (I485). Here is the thing. I applied for a green card in November 2019 and everything was going smoothly. Got my biometrics done, and green card interview scheduled for April 2020. It was obviously canceled because of covid and in september 2020 it was rescheduled but, long story short, while my interview was waiting to be rescheduled, I moved to another state (military family). Altough I changed my address right away with USCIS and the post office, they still scheduled me in the state of my old address. So, I decided to still go to that interview to avoid the no show issue even though that state did not have juridiction over my case. There, they told me I would be rescheduled in the state of my new address. So after that interview, my case status changed 3 times the same day. First it became interview canceled then interview ready to be rescheduled which made sense but then it changed to interview canceled again. It s been 4 months since my case status is saying interview canceled . My question is, is this normal? I am scared not to be in the waiting queue for an interview since me moving etc was a bit of a mess, that it could have got lost or something. You know, migrants paranoia and fears lol. I called USCIS and asked the Tier 1 if i was indeed in the waiting queue in my new state office, he said yes but it just seems odd.

I'm aware that this is a personal decision but I want to get a whole picture before making important decisions. My wife came to the US on a K1 visa and we made the decision to not change her name after marriage to make everything easier for AOS instead of changing it. In a month, she's eligible to apply for citizenship and we've been talking about changing her name. She doesn't have a middle name so she'd take her maiden name as her middle name and she'd take my last name. Is it a real pain in the butt to get all the documentation switched over to her new name? And also, I've heard that the name in your passport has to be the name you travel with. If she had dual citizenship, she'd present her Belgian passport (old name) in Belgium but her new US passport (new name) when coming home. So which name would we fly with? Or would we just have to apply for a new Belgian passport in her new name to be on the safe side? Thank you for any input. I know this is ultimately a personal decision but it would be nice to get personal opinions from people who have done this.

We are about to send my aos package today, USCIS is working slower now and I d like to avoid rejection so here is my question: do we need to sign everything in the package? Of course we need to sign the forms but how about for example credit score report, copy of passport, copy of marriage certificate? Do we need to sign the supporting documents as well?

Im sending my aos paperwork soon and I was wondering, in the forms where they ask about my husbands taxes, should I leave the last tax year of 2019 he paid or 2020? My husband won t do his taxes until February/ March cause he still needs to get his W2s. I wonder if I m the form i864 I can leave 2019 as a last tax or I need to put 2020 and wrote a statement my husband didn t do his 2020 yet?
