What do I put for Social Security on I-864W for my adopted 15 yr. old daughter?!

Hi everyone!

So finally got an NVC welcome letter for my 15 year old adopted daughter who's coming with my wife. We all live outside the US right now. I have domicile in the US.

I filed an I-864 for my wife, but since my daughter is adopted I'm trying to file I-864W for her. Everything is ok except for question 11. U.S. Social Security Number (Required)....
What do I put down here? I don't think it's my SS they're looking for and my daughter does not have an SS # yet, since she's never been to the US before.

This is very confusing. Can I put zeroes and add a comment in the additional section that she'll file for one once she enters the US?

Need help, thanks!

Taxes During K-1 AOS - MFJ when USC is Student?

Hi all! Have a question that seems a bit specific for my circumstances, so wanted to ask here.

We're in the process of finalizing our tax return; I'm the USC, currently a student and have no income for the taxable year. My wife came to the US in June on a K-1 and is still waiting on EAD / GC, so she also has no income. As such, we have no tax liability.

I see posts here saying you should almost always MFJ, but in our circumstance, that wouldn't have any effect. Nonetheless, I would think it would be a good idea to MFJ as for the N-400, you apparently need to show 3 years of tax returns. My intuition would be that it would, therefore, be good to start with having a return now, despite her technically not even needing to file.

But I'm confused as to some of the subsequent questions if we do elect MFJ. For example, would she would be considered a 'dual status alien' for IRS purposes? She was here from mid June 2022, so she satisfied the substantial presence test after arrival; but what is this referring to, residence for taxation purposes or immigration purposes? If the latter, then no as we're still waiting on AOS. Moreover, as we're using a software, is there anything we should particularly look out for / be cautious of when filing these? As an example, are there certain questions on the tax form that could have negative immigration consequences (I'm imagining like on a driver's license application, how it asks if you're a citizen)? I'm terrible with these forms, so any guidance would be much appreciated. TIA.

Hey, so on the USCIS website it says "All forms and supporting documents submitted must be single-sided, standard 8 x 11 letter-size pages."

My Fiance wrote her letter of intent to marry on A4 paper, will this affect my application?

Got an RFE and Then a letter telling me to ignore it

I originally filed in Dec of 2021 for my Belarusian Fiance. We had just taken another vacation together, and well, it was time. As we all saw, everything in Russia/Ukraine happened and that had lingering effects in Belarus.

So a year went by with us really trying not be disheartened. Well in Feb of 2023, I got an RFE asking for details of my first marriage. My first marriage was foreign as well, so I had filed an I-129F. I was a little worried as I had to admit this would be my second marriage and my first marriage hadn't ended on the best terms.

As I opened this RFE for CSC, I was was surprised that they wanted proof of an I-130. I called USCIS, who confirmed that I had never filed such a thing. To get a copy of the original I-129 from my first marriage, I would have to shell out $500. I prepared all the document, including some additional evidence that my lady and I were still actively seeking this marriage and had continued to meet over other vacations.

Just before I was ready to send it off, the CSC sent another letter, telling me to ignore the first RFE on March 1, 2023, they had made an internal mistake. I didn't send the for the original I-129F, it save me a bit of money, however, I did send the RFE, the cancellation of the RFE and the additional evidence I spoke about earlier.

I am sure the CSC never got my letter, because on MARCH 20, 2023, I received the NOA that my application was approved and was being forwarded to the NVC in Warsaw Poland.

A real rollercoaster, but I am happy to be onto the next step.
