The US Consulate in Vienna Austria confirmed that a K-1 is a NON-IMMIGRANT visa and ARE NOT AFFECTED by this ban. K-1's will be issued once the Consulates re-open and K-1's will be allowed in the country once the travel ban is lifted (or if you aren't in a country specified by the travel ban). My fiance was in Austria for her K-1 interview and medical exam at the time of the ban. On the day the travel ban went into effect, she did her medical exam and was the last interview the Consulate did before closing. They took her passport and told her that her visa would be sent to her the second the Consulate re-opens. As of now the Vienna Consulate is set to re-open May 4, but that could change any day. Hope this helps some who are worried.

Hello all, new to the site and looking for some help. Long story short, my fiance was in Austria doing her medical exam and interview for her K-1, and the day of her interview (March 13) the consulate closed due to the COVID travel ban in the US. According to the Vienna Consulate, they will be reopening on May 4. She completed her interview and medical exam, so once they reopen they should be mailing her her visa to her parent's house. Is there any news or update about when the US will allow visa holders into the country, specifically K-1 visa holders? I assume I have no options to get her home any sooner? Thanks!

I'm the petitioner for my spouse that lives outside the U.S. and I am not supporting her financially, my aunt the sponsor is. For NVC, do I also need to fill out an affidavit of support as well as my aunt?

Hello, so me and my husband had a baby (which was born in Austria) during our visa process. Our son is now living with me in Austria and my husband is in the US. We already issued his report of birth abroad which proofs his american citizenship due to his american father and we also got his american passport. My case was already approved by USCIS and is on it s way to NVC. My question is weather my son can travel with his passport with me once I get approved or does he need something in addition to that?

Hi Everyone - happy Friday - Just wondering when you do the medical exam for the K1 timeline? Can we do it now, or do we need to wait until a case number is assigned? I already know the preferred Embassy medical doctor's name and location. Can we do make an appointment now?
