Selective service registration

Hi everyone,

This forum was notoriously helpful for me a few years ago when I was going through my visa application process. I m very lucky to now say that I am a permanent resident and I have been living in San Francisco for the last 2 years and I love it here!
My question is about selective service and the process to naturalization. During my visa interview I also applied for a social security number at the same time as processing my visa application. When I go to check if I am enrolled with the selective service using my SSN it says that no record is found, and it says that I am unable to register online. I turn 26 in 3 months and I want to be sure that I am enrolled so that there are no hiccups for naturalization.

I know that USCIS passes my information along to SSS but they may not have passed on my SSN as I applied for it simultaneously in my visa interview, so I am assuming that this is the reason that I cannot look up my confirmation on the selective service online portal. I know there are many success stories with USCIS doing everything correctly, but I ve also heard some nightmares about the process and people are ultimately unable to go through the naturalization process due to it.

Just to be safe, I printed out an application for SSS and posted it last month however I still have not heard back yet. I know with COVID-19 there is a delay in processing, but I m getting a little anxious. I am going to call in the next few days to see what the process looks like, but I m just wondering if anyone has been in the same boat as me.

Thanks everyone and I hope you re all safe out there with the craziness of this pandemic!

Hello everyone, I hope you are doing everything in your power to make the best of this trying and unforeseeable pandemic!

I have my NOA1 for my I-129F. I understand that USCIS is processing I-129F's right now, but my question is that if an I-129F is approved does it then enter into a huge pool of cases that are left in waiting due to the virus? I'm trying to think of different scenarios and it seems to me that the wait for a K1 visa will be much longer with all the other cases that were waiting for an interview are now left suspended.

I'm with my Aussie partner in Australia and I'm beginning to wonder if we should just get married here and then apply for a CR-1? The wait could potentially be long then at least we can wait here together rather than be separated for an indeterminable amount of time.

I-944 Health Insurance Options

I was just wondering if anyone was considering getting short term health insurance as part of the health health insurance requirement on I-944. I was thinking of maybe getting a short term 12 month policy.

Unfortunately for me, my husband doesn't have health insurance through work, nor does he have health insurance at all, so I cannot be added to a policy.

I've read through the instructions and the USCIS website and from what I can gather, it's not a hard no for short term insurance but maybe that other options weigh more positively.

Is anyone else considering an alternative path for health insurance other than through their spouse?

Just curious if any of you had success using the DHL hack when your case went in transit to Sydney or one of the other consulates. I realize it doesn't work all the time but, since I have some free time I thought I'd reach out. I tried multiple variations based on the searches, here is an example:
