Got this letter from USCIS today asking for more information to help complete my application. I am a K1 Visa holder applying for a status adjustment to permanent residency (form I-485), and I'm applying with a joint financial sponsor (form I-864). I filed my sponsor's application concurrently with my form I-485; she filled it out with all the necessary details and sent me a scan of it all, which I printed and filed along with my other papers. So it doesn't have her original signature, just a scan. Butttt....
The part of the letter that has me confused is this line:
"Form I-864, Affidavit of Support, was submitted; however, it was not from the petitioning sponsor. Even if a joint sponsor will be used, the petitioning sponsor must submit form I-864." ...
Contradicting with its following line:
"In order to process your application further, you must: Submit a completed and signed Form I-864, Affidavit of Support, from the petitioning sponsor."
So is it asking for my sponsor to send Form I-864 in to the USCIS office herself? Or is it asking me to send it in from myself? That's what I interpret the second line to mean. But then the first line seems to want my sponsor to send it in herself, because it was not 'from her'.
I'm thinking that they seem to probably want her original signature either way, I understand that. But should she send it in with her original signature, or should I send it in with her original signature?
Thankyou thankyou thankyou!
Just to clarify I definitely sent in the latest edition of the form, definitely with sufficient evidence, definitely with all of the pages, definitely with her social security number, everything else the letter says, etc.
