Public Charge Rule (Mumbai) - Am I likely to be approved?

I recently got my job in July last year. My current income is $45k annually however the income reported on my 2019 tax filing is ~$24k since I was only employed for 5 months in 2019. I am sponsoring my wife in India and she will be interviewing in Mumbai. Do you think I will have a tough time getting approved with a 2019 tax transcript + most recent paystubs? I have been employed continuously now for 1 year 2 months.

PS. My wife is a registered nurse but currently unemployed. She intends to start working here as a registered nurse. Not sure if this works in our favor.

Hello all,

Just received an email in the middle of the night 5 days before my husband's scheduled interview.

"Dear visa appointment holder,
We regret to inform you that we need to reschedule your visa interview that was previously scheduled on September 22, 2020. A recent court order in litigation unrelated to your case has required us to prioritize Diversity Visa (DV) immigrant applications through the end of the fiscal year, September 30, 2020. Certain embassies and consulates have had to reschedule visa applicants in other visa categories to prioritize DV applicants in adherence with the court order.
Your appointment has been rescheduled for October 6, 2020......."
Very frustrated as we have spent so much time planning and traveling for him to be there, especially with all of the COVID restrictions. This seems to have come at the worst time as we probably won't be refunded for travel costs. Has this happened to anyone else? My mind is blown that diversity visas are being prioritized over immediate relatives being reunited with family during a global pandemic.

Hi fellow friends,

HELP! My husband and I were in the final stages of finalizing our CR1 visa (embassy interview) and then decided to split up and no longer move forward with the visa processing for my Australian husband to move to the US.

Location Details:

Place of marriage/residence at the time: The Netherlands

Place of my residence (since marriage): USA

Place of husband's residence (since marriage): Australia

I literally have no idea if I need to get a divorce in the US and I'm not quite sure if the US has technically registered as a "married couple", as he has never physically lived/worked here and we have been separated this entire time since marriage. The Netherlands has no jurisdiction to issue a divorce since we no longer live there.

Any advice/guidance/references would be greatly appreciated during this trying times of change.

Thanks beautiful humans! <3

Hi everyone :)

My partner and i are prepping together to begin our K1 visa application. My partner is from the states and lives here in Australia with me. She is currently on a student visa and then will start a post grad visa. We are looking at the Proof of Financial Support forms and considering she lives and has worked here for the past few years she has no evidence to supply from America. I don't own any assets here in Australia, i have like 30 grand saved which will substantially decrease depending on the us dollar. I was wondering if my savings alone would suffice?

Thanks!

Hi All,

Apologies if this topic has been covered in recent times. My searches didn't come up with a specific answer.

We posted our application in Feb then later realised we needed to have included more information on something. We have since received an RFE with regards to a different subject.

We are planning to provide the additional detail in an affidavit along with the RFE information. Do people feel would this be an appropriate way of going about it?

Thanking you in advance
