My spouse and I are currently residing overseas.

We are filling out our I-864 form and need some clarifications. Both of us are working and earning in foreign currency.

Question:

Is foreign income counted towards the income requirement on the I-864?

Do we report our income in US currency?

We are planning to supplement with assets as well in case they do not count our foreign income.

My wife (beneficiary) owns part of a real estate left behind by my in-laws, it is written in a will (how much is worth and % that my wife is inheriting). We have not sold the real estate yet so cannot show for it in cash. But it is fully paid off and can be liquidated within a year or less. Are we able to supplement this will as an asset? The title deed is under her parents' name.

We received our Interview Date today for July 20. (NOA2 4/15). It s only weeks before our K1 expiration date.

We may have to signed more paperwork and update the visa. I ve emailed the Consulate if any earlier appointments were availiable but the 20th is the earliest one . 309 days from NOA1 for AUS. I know it can be worse but not looking forward to the extra paperwork to be done close to our K1 expiring. Not to include the weeks it takes for administrative processing and travel exemption applications.
Just venting.

Offices Reopening

USCIS field offices and asylum offices have resumed non-emergency face-to-face services to the public. We have enacted precautions to prevent the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in our facilities.

• You may not enter a USCIS facility if you:
  • Have any symptoms of COVID-19, including recently developed cough, fever, difficulty breathing, changes in smell or taste or fatigue (list is not all-inclusive);
  • Have been in close contact with anyone known or suspected to have COVID-19 in the last 14 days;
  • Have been instructed to self-quarantine or self-isolate by a health care provider, public health authority or government agency within the last 14 days; or
  • Are awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test.
• If your temperature reads 38 C (100.4 F) or higher, you must immediately leave the office building. (This does not apply to application support centers.)
  • To reschedule your appointment, call the USCIS Contact Center at 800-375-5283 (TTY 800-767-1833). To reschedule your appointment with an asylum office, please follow the instructions in your interview notice.
• You may not enter the facility more than 15 minutes before your appointment (30 minutes for naturalization ceremonies).
• We will provide hand sanitizer at entry points.
• All staff and visitors who have not been fully vaccinated must wear facial coverings. A person is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving the last recommended dose of vaccine. For unvaccinated visitors, your mask must cover both the mouth and nose inside USCIS facilities. We do not allow masks with exhaust valves, neck gaiters, or bandanas. If you do not have an acceptable face covering, we may offer a replacement or reschedule your appointment.
• There will be markings and physical barriers in the facility; you should pay close attention to these signs to ensure you follow social distancing guidelines.
• You may also have to answer health screening questions before entering a facility.

My partner (petitioner) and I have applied for our CR1 visa earlier this year. We were wondering if we can expedite once our NOA2 is approved on the grounds that the petitioner has a job back in the states. It's a family business that her Mother needs help with.

My fianc recently received her approved K1 visa last week (YAY!) and we've been intending to fly her over here ASAP as it has been 15 months since we've seen each other. We submitted the request for exemption to border patrol and were denied on the "traveling for 3 months or more" grounds (although they did say that we were reviewed for all options). We provided a copy of the visa, the letter from the embassy which states that she will be staying in the United States for an extended amount of time, and a signed statutory declaration which explained our request for travel. They told us we could re-apply with more information if circumstances change... I did not want to book a non-refundable flight without confirmation that she could leave but one of the documents that can be included for evidence is a flight itinerary. I'm debating booking a one way flight, including a copy of that itinerary which will also show that she has 3 checked bags to carry all of her belongings (we aren't shipping anything). Additionally, I just signed up for a 2 bedroom apartment for us so I will get that lease and have her signed on as a renter for a 1 year lease. Is there anything else that you would include or attach that would provide compelling evidence to border patrol? She has no job to show she's leaving because she's quit that ages ago while waiting for the visa... She has no lease or house in Australia because she has lived with family while waiting for the visa to be completed. She is truly fully dependent on me financially until she is allowed to come over here and eventually be granted work permission.

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated! I'm still a little shocked that we were denied...
