Common sense OR Gamble for Wedding date?!?!?

Hello Visa Journey,

My fiance and I applied for K1 visa and are coming to a close with an interview at Sydney on Feb 5th. All this should be exciting but I am no where near excited because of all this wedding planning stress along with the Advance Parole.

My fiance feels so confident that he will be in the states by Valentines Day and wants to get married on that exact day in the form of a small elopement ceremony and dinner afterwards. He wants to get married the moment he comes off the plane so we can apply for Adjustment of Status and Advanced Parole in order to make it to his sisters wedding in Australia by the end of June.

PROBLEM: Its VALENTINES Day (everywhere is probably booked) and its five days before my birthday (Feb19). Not to sound spoiled but I really prefer not to have valentines day an anniversary, and my birthday all in the same week for the rest of our married lives.

Based on other timelines it doesnt look like Advance Parole isnt issued as fast as 2-3 months anymore, more like 5-6 months realistically. SO I suggested we get married on March 1st because I really dont think 2 weeks will make a difference on getting this AP approved. My fiance thought this idea absolutely stupid but I dont want to make all these plans and hes not here by Feb 14th. It is a gamble and I am not willing to plan a wedding on one of the most busiest days of the year for him not to be here by chance. Until he has a visa in his hands I dont want to make risky plans and claim a wedding date. March 1st seems more realistic but he thinks its insane because he believes those two weeks will make all the difference in getting his AP in time.

If anyone else has advice, please share down below.

Thank you

Hi,

I'm confused! I have been told by a lawyer that some consulates want you to physically mail in the documentation (DS260 +Financial Documents) instead of submitting on the CEAC website? It looks like it should be done on the website but I'm not sure! Our consulate is allocated to Sydney....? Thoughts/experiences?

Moving during the AOS process

When I first applied for AOS I lived in Georgia. I had my biometrics completed in Atlanta on September 25th. We moved to Colorado on November 8th. I filed a change of address form (AR-11) online the same day. Got an email confirmation so I assumed all was good. I reached out to USCIS about 2 weeks ago to determine if the address change had been successful and they said they wouldn t know until after 30 days and to contact them again after this.

Today I received a notification that my case had been scheduled for interview. I spoke to USCIS online and they said it was scheduled for Atlanta, Georgia. I said I had lodged a change of address form over 30 days ago and she said it should have been processed by now. I gave the agent my confirmation number and she said my number was invalid and not appearing in the system. I have a screenshot showing confirmation that I lodged a change of address request but she says they never received it. I ve attached a photo of this screenshot.

The agent lodged another request on my behalf and I asked what I was meant to do about my Atlanta appointment. The notice will be mailed to my old address in GA (despite us having mail forwarding in place) so I will have no idea my appointment is. I m under the impression I won t be able to attend this appointment anyway because I now live in Colorado. The agent said I do nothing and hope that my change of address is processed (again, this takes 30 days) before my interview appointment is scheduled. If it is not processed by then I will be a no show . I called USCIS because I wasn t satisfied with this and he wasn t overly helpful either. He said there was nothing they could do and to call in 15 days when I hadn t received my notice of interview. Which obviously I won t get because I don t live in Georgia anymore.

I feel so upset and frustrated. I don t know what to do. If anyone has any advice I d gladly take it because I m so confused about what I should be doing

Just out of curiosity, has any of you expedited or been granted an emergency Advanced Parole while waiting for your greencard? If so, why?

Probably been answered but I couldn't find anything - has anyone looked at the official numbers of visas issued or 130s approved vs how many are tracked on VJ? Just wondering how representative the numbers are here.... Thanks!
