Did anyone use I-864EZ instead of I-864?

I'm going to file for AOS from K1 soon and I keep reading about different ways of doing it and getting information on different forms.

I just read on a website where they guide you through AOS that "form I-864EZ can't be submitted with adjustment of status"?? I'm puzzled. I thought I read in the instructions that we could use it.

Part 1: Qualifying to use Form I-864EZ

1.a. I am the petitioner of the family member sponsored on this affidavit. YES/NO (Use Form I-864)

1.b. I am using my own earned or retirement income, which is documented using IRS Form W-2. YES/NO (Use Form I-864)

1.C. The sponsored immigrant is the only person immigrating based on the underlying visa petition. YES/NO (Use Form I-864)

> Item Number l.a. Select Yes if you are the petitioner who is filing or who has already filed Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative; Form I-129F, Petition for Alien Fianc (e); Form I-600, Petition to Classify Orphan as an Immediate Relative; or Form I-600A, Application for Advance Processing of Orphan Petition.

Just curious to see how many people opted for this form as opposed to I-864. It seems that sometimes reading more ends up making me more confused.

Filling out I-485 - Information about your immigrant category

Hello everyone! I'm gonna file for Adjustment on Status (from a K-1 visa) and I can't seem to find the right answer for this, so I figured I'd ask here.

In form I-485, it says
"Information About Your Immigrant Category
If you are the principal applicant, provide the following information.
12. Receipt Number of Underlying Petition (if any)
Priority Date from Underlying Petition (if any)"

I was wondering if I should add my I-129F receipt number and then, there is no priority date. So should I put "N/A" there? Because a lot of people say to put your "receipt date" but if fiance petitions do not have a priority date, then I don't get why you would fill that out.

What do you guys think? Thank you in advance!!

Hi,

Has anyone been able to find information on how my fianc can get his SSN with all of the offices closed? I am trying to navigate the https://www.ssa.gov/ website to see if they are offering a way to do it online but I'm not seeing anything. We are going to pick up our marriage license tomorrow but I believe he will need a SSN in order to be added to my health insurance.

Thanks!

Spousal Visa Interview - How do they want the documents handed to them?

Hello.

I am trying to prepare my husband's paperwork for his eventual I-130 interview. I will most likely be in the country with him when he has his interview but if I am not, I want to have the packet all prepared and in order just in case so it's one less thing he has to worry/be nervous about. I know all the required documents for our embassy and everything that NVC has said BUT how do they want us to hand them this big stack of paper work? Should documents with more than one page be stapled or paper clipped? Should I whole punch things or put them in plastic protectors and put them in a binder or just put everything in order and hand over a stack of paper without any dividers? Should I make a Table of Contents page? I basically want to make it as easy as possible for them to look through our paperwork because we're already 19 months into this process and I don't want to give them a single reason to not approve us or put us under Additional Review. We are still waiting for NVC to approve our paperwork after an RFE so we don't have our interview but I'm just trying to be prepared. If there are similar threads or information about this, link them or let me know about them. I appreciate any help! Thanks!

Hey everyone,

I just got done researching a lot of things and preparing myself for the rest of this k1 journey. I noticed that several sites including uscis stated that if the beneficiary has or had any mental illness associated with harmful behavior will not be issued a visa.

A brief explanation of my fiance's medical history: diagnosed at age 11 with Psychosis, had been treated up until age 18, stopped for a while and has been stable for 2 years. However, the past 2 years he hasn't sought treatment and is not taking meds.

What do we need to prepare for this? Will he be rejected because of this?
