Hi everyone, First, a little bit of background. I obtained my green card and EAD through family- based AOS (hubby is a USC). However, I still haven't updated my social security card (it still says something like "not for work authorization. I got it when I came with a J1 visa). The reason why I haven't updated it is because the SSA office is/was closed when I got my green card. Tomorrow I have to start the paper work for a job, and they asked me to take my SS card. Because of this work restriction, I will explain to them that I wasn't able to go to their office to get it updated, but I am also going to take my EAD and GC so that they know that I am allowed to work. I'm worried that I might lose the job because of this. Any thoughts? TIA

Hi, all! I'm in a bit of a conundrum here. I received a response from NVC regarding the uploaded civil documents - birth certificate and marriage certificate were rejected. The message read: "Please replace this with an acceptable birth certificate from a correct issuing authority." That's exactly what I did, but the documents got rejected. In Argentina, birth and marriage records are simple photocopies from the Civil Registry's books - they can also be certified if needed. The copies I had submitted were also legalized with the Ministry of Internal Affairs. I'm not sure what's the best way to handle the NVC request for the replacement documents. Any Argentines here who could shed some light? Or anyone at all may have an idea of how to best handle the situation? Thanks much in advance

Hi everyone, I recently got my conditional green card and was wondering if I should carry it with me all the time. What do you do with it?

Greetings everybody, I am a permanent resident married to a USC. We live in the United States. I am looking for advice and guidance in the following situation: I am selling a property in my home country, and plan to have the money transferred to the US. I want to know if I need to report that sale somewhere, and what the process is like. The sale is an apartment worth approximately 56k. I will have the deed translated into English, and certified. I just don't know where and how to report that income. Thank you in advance. Stay healthy

Hello everyone, This week my green card got approved. I filed AOS through my marriage (hubby is a USC). I know it might be too early, but I am beginning to wonder about the next steps. I know there's ROC and naturalization, but I am confused as to what the difference between them is. When can I apply for citizenship? Also, is there something I should be doing between now and then? Like keeping evidence, etc etc? Thanks a lot!
