As I've seen happen to others, we received our biometrics screening appointment notification in the mail the day after the appointment. I immediately called and got a friendly person who filed a request for a reschedule and got the the whole "you should hear back from us in 30 days for the reschedule" message. In reading through similar posts, it seems like just doing a walk-in is advisable because we may be waiting forever to get this rescheduled. The only issue is we live 3+ hours away from where the local office is and I can't easily take time off work to take my husband just to get rejected for a walk-in appointment. What are our chances if we just show up? We're through the only service center in Maine if that helps. Thanks!

Hello everyone. I'm in the AOS process and I received a notice for interview including a list where they ask for an affidavit of support. Does an individual with his family and an approved EB2 I-140 NIW submit an I-864 form? Thank you in advance.

Hi! We are in the middle of getting health insurance thru the health marketplace /obamacare (we may get some tax credit). I am a US citizen (naturalization) and was wondering if we can add, as a dependent, my senior mother (over 70s) to whatever health plan we decide to get. My mother has her green card already and doesnt work. We just dont want to do anything that is considered public charge. We live in Florida. Thank you!

My fianc (Argentina citizen) and I (US citizen) are planning to marry in Mendoza, Argentina on Dec 1, 2023. We re trying to understand all the requirements for the marriage to be official and legal to get the marriage certificate in Argentina. I saw on another website that I need to obtain a certificate of legal capacity to marry from the US embassy in Argentina. And that we need to file banns of marriage .. does this apply for Argentina? Are there any US citizens here who have gone through this process and can point me in the right direction as far as the local Argentina legal requirements? We have a date with the casa gobierno 30 days before the wedding. We re also planning to hire a licensed translator for the ceremony. We just want to make sure we don t miss anything or screw anything up. Our ultimate goal is to apply for a CR-1 visa once we have the marriage certificate.
