Advice for K-1 interview

Greetings all! We are looking for some advice for my fianc 's k-1 interview which is coming up on June 5th. We have been together for almost 3 years and know each other so well. We just met up last week in Dubai to go through all the possible questions and everything we submitted. We also have our lawyer walking him through a practice interview. I guess our concern is what could be perceived as red flags in our case and they kinds of evidence / questions they may ask to over come our red flags. ( I am sure every case has some red flags). As the USC I am 20 years older than my fianc (he is from Algeria, another red flag country) and I am divorced. We sent about 400 pages total of evidence to USCIS. We have gathered a lot of additional evidence for the embassy (photos of video chats, messages, our recent trip.. my fianc has also become friends with my brothers and has independent conversations with them ... we have included that evidence as well as video chats with friends and his family. We also started a business together in the US and included all that paperwork) . Does anyone have any experience with the types of questions they may ask given our age difference? Also any recommendations on what additional evidence we should provide to the embassy to demonstrate a true relationship?

Thank you so much for your help!

Cheers

Does the I-134 and supporting documents for a K-1 get sent to the NVC or brought to the embassy during the interview

Greetings all!

We are having some confusion over where to submit our documents. We received an email from the US consulate in Algeria where my fiance is from that they have received our file from the NVC. They sent us a list of documents we need to organized (straight forward) included the affidavit of support and all the supporting documents. While the letter says to not send anything to the embassy after submitting our I-160, it says bring supporting documents to the interview. We were just informed by a lawyer that after submitting the I-160 we should actually submit the receipt from that along with our supporting documents to the NVC and then wait another 2-3 months for the NVC to send these documents to the consulate and then we can set up the interview. There is such mixed guidance on this we are confused about what to do as well as heart broken that the NVC and their timeline needs to be involved again. Does anyone have any advice or guidance about this? Thank you so much for your help! Cheers

Hi everyone,

I would like to travel abroad 2 months before my Conditional green card expires (marriage based). I will file for removal of conditions on my GC a month before the travel date. My question is can I travel while my removal of conditions is pending ? Or do I have to wait for the USCIS to send me anything before I can go ? (When I get back my Conditional GC will still be unexpired)

Thanks for your help !

questions about the K-1 Visa application packet

Hello. My fianc and I are in the process of applying for a K-1 visa and putting the packet together. I've been watching videos about what we need to include but I have a few questions because I want to make sure we have everything correct.

1. For the evidence of how we met, all the videos I have seen the couples met on dating sites so they include the terms of service of the dating site. My fianc and I did not meet on a dating site, we met through a mutual friend when I asked about a photo of my fianc that our friend had on Facebook. What do I need to include for this. I saw someone say if we met through a friend we would need signed letters from at least 3 people about it.

2. For the letter of intent to marry, it was mentioned that they need signatures from both of us. Do they have to be actual handwritten signatures or can his be a scan of his signature since he is in another country from me?

3. Do I need to include both of our birth certificates? And for his do I need the actual certificate in his native language? I have a copy of his but it is a translated to English copy and not the official one in his language.

4. I am a widow so I'll need to prove that I am single, correct? What do I need to include for that proof. Will just a copy of my late husband's death certificate be ok or do I need to get other forms of proof? (I think its called a letter of celibacy?)

5. When filling out the I-129F form where it says to include places you are employed. I work a full time job but I also for extra income I do DoorDash and Ubereats. I am not officially employed by DoorDash/Ubereats, I guess they call it contracted by them. Do I need to include them since I was not hired or officially employed by them?

I thank everyone in advance for their time and answers.

Greetings everyone! My name is BethAnne and my fianc , Amine, is from Algeria. I feel like this process is just taking longer and longer. We got our approval from USCIS on January 4, 2022 (we submitted in November 2020) We waited a month and then I called NVC and got our NVC case number but have never received an email from them. What is confusing is I understood we would have to submit more information including our affidavit of support to the NVC, however, they said we don't submit anything to them but that we wait until the US embassy in Algeria requests applications and then they will ask for additional documentation. I feel like we are getting conflicting information. Can anyone tell us where we will actually send the additional information to? Also any idea what the timeline is for applications from the NVC being requested by the embassy. Its frustrating as the US Embassy web site comments that due to COVID they are experiencing significant delays, however, then it posts videos of American staff going to local events and touring the country. Any information on timelines and specifically for Algeria would be much appreciated!

Thank you very much
