Hi Folks, We applied for a K-1 in October 2022, got the NOA1 and waiting for the NOA2. Back in August 2022, before applying for the K-1, we had an engagement ceremony with friends and family. We also had a small family gathering wherein we performed a Devi pooja (religious worhsip) involving a Fire ritual, to celebrate the engagement. We had submitted ample photos from the engagement ceremony in our LOIs, as well as some photos of the Devi Puja (a celebratory religious worship) involving a fire ritual in one of the Supporting Affidavits from my family members, supporting our intent to marry, and clearly mentioning that it's photos just photos from a religious extension of the Engagement celebration. Read elsewhere on these forums that any inclusion of photos involving 'Fire rituals' within the engagement proof submitted as a part of the I-129F package have the potential to be misconstrued by the CO as an 'appearance' of an informal, unregistered 'Hindu' wedding, and can be used as grounds to deny the I-129F petition by the Consular Officer, under INA 214(b). Should I be concerned? What can we do in terms of any additional proof/documents to carry to the interview, to assuage any concerns or misconstruals by the CO of the post-engagement Puja (celebratory worship service with a fire ritual) as a wedding, which it is actually NOT? Thanks in anticipation of your thoughts/opinions!

Hello everyone, Just looking for some advice here. My dad and sister are permanent residents that due to a family member being ill, they had to stay outside of the US for a year and 2 months. They came to Chicago last Friday on Dec 2nd and the officer at the point of entry filed a I193 form for them and stamped their password. On the passport stamp he put "I 193 approved". They were advised that they need to stay in the US otherwise they will loose their residence. My dad has to fly back to Europe on Dec 9th. What does this form and stamp mean? Can he come back to the US? IS the GC still valid? Any responses would help

I mean i sent a bunch of supporting evidence but nothing crazy ,mostly just regular bills o both names and lease .Thank you in advance and good luck to you all

Hello all, We arrived into the US on Jan 7th 2022 and paid the GC fee on Dec 22, 2021. When should we expect our Green card to arrive? Will the status of the case on USCIS be updated when the card is mailed?

Hi everyone, I filed an i-129f for my fiance but we're considering cancelling it, getting married and filing an i-130. We'd like to move abroad together while going through the process. I read I would need to get biometrics done. Do I need to be in the US for that stage or can it be done abroad? Also, can anyone give me any insight of the timeframe from the time you send in the form until the time they tell you to get the biometrics done? Any additional advice is greatly appreciated!
