Once we were lying with our bodies in the sun from the afternoon light that shone through the window in our studio apartment in Thailand, the music blasting from the car wash below. It was stuffy and smelled like laundry and polluted air that floated in from our balcony. It was a peaceful time, but we knew the storm was coming. And we knew that the rainbow was on the other side of it, so we just smiled as the tears fell when we parted, knowing that when we would meet again, everything would be better.
