  1. Congratulations! You've made it! I think the split interview scheduling just shows how disorganized they are in boston.
  2. My hubby took the free classes at our local library for a while. And then just kept reading and rereading the study material. Closer to the interview- I was quizzing him, asking the questions and he responded. And it worked!
  3. Yes, no IPad. You have to answer verbally. Our officer was nice, when my hubby answered one question wrong, but then asked a clarifying question, and then answered correctly- the officer accepted the right answer.
  4. Talking about dysfunction at USCIS... If you guys recall, my hubby gave his oath last week. Guess what! Yesterday he received his 10-year green card! What are we supposed to do with it now???
  5. LOL DH- dear hubby. Yes, the courthouse just happens to be one of the places where they schedule oaths in Boston. Nothing to do with a name change. There were 99 people, one person did not show up. So they must be scheduling in 100 people batches? Who knows!
  6. Just wanted to share the update from the oath ceremony yesterday. DH was scheduled to give the oath at the Moakley Courthouse. The ceremony was scheduled for 12:30 pm, but in actually started just at 1:30 pm! We were there at 12pm, so the wait was very long. I wish they had communicated it beforehand because many people had family and friends with them, and everybody was just sitting there for more than an hour. Very hard on little kids! Since it was at the courthouse, the phones and any electronic items like Bluetooth earphones had to be left at the security check-in. That meant that we didn't have a single picture from the ceremony! Very disappointing! However, glad that it all is done!
  7. Happy to report that my hubby successfully passed his naturalization interview! It was a combo interview for us, I-751 and N-400. We quickly showed some evidence for I-751, she asked a couple of questions and said that she is approving our I-751. After that I was allowed to stay in the room for the N-400 part, just had to move to the back of the room, so that I don't help him with the questions. Then she started asking questions, who is MA governor, one war in the 1900s, what is an amendment, name of the vice president, one thing only the federal government can do, and why does the flag has 50 stars. one sentence to read and one to write. was very quick. And then she went over several sections on his form like if he has started working, which he started just last year.. So she needed the address and phone number of his employer etc. Then she checked some entries on the form about how many times we have been married, and how many kids he has. read him the oath questions and asked if he was willing to take it. and that's it! She gave him his approval paper and said he would be scheduled for the oath on February 21. We got the scheduling confirmation right after. And then on the way home I got text messages that our cases' status had changed. When I checked for updates, I-751 said that the card is being produced, which I doubt:D. and N-400 said that an oath scheduling notice is being sent. So relieved to be almost done! And big thank you to all VisaJourney community! Couldnt have done it without all the information shared here!
  8. Hi! It was exactly what happened to us on January 3rd. Check your documents section online and see if there is any new notice from USCIS. That's where the interview scheduling notice was posted.
  9. You were right! We got the invite for the I-751 interview as well, so it will be a combo interview! Yay!
  10. Have you tried submit congressional inquiry? Service request and ombudsman? I can't prove it that it helped, but it didn't hurt either. Forces them to look up the case.
  11. Thanks! I will definitely share updates if any! I really hope it is a combo interview! In this forum, I have seen that it can go either way.
