We met in a Yahoo chat room in late 2000. We kept in touch over the years and became really good friends despite never having met in person!
In early 2009 we became a couple, and Emi visited Phoenix for the first time at the end of February. That first trip was everything we'd hoped it would be and so much more! Emi visited again for 3 weeks in May, and Shawn visited the UK for the first time in September 2009. We got engaged in London on September 5th 2009! :)
Emi visited Shawn again for 3 weeks at the end of 2009 and for another 3 weeks in April 2010, while the visa process was underway. Emi's K-1 visa was granted on August 10th 2010 and she flew to Phoenix on September 3rd. The big day was October 15th and it was truly the best day of our lives! We started the AOS process exactly one month later and AOS was approved at our interview on February 10th 2011 - another awesome day! :-)
