I met Sarah in Australia, She was there on an extended work contract and I started a new job on the same project which meant we spent a lot of time together.
At the end of the 1 year project, I travelled to the US on an M-1 Visa and spent 'on and off' 9 amazing months traveling, sight seeing and all the touristy things I wanted to do! (In between my studies).
I have since returned on the VWP and we are sorting out our I-129F application for when I return to Oz. I'm liking my time here in the US, if only i'd stop getting in the wrong side of the car, and it would be nice if people could understand the accent better (generally I get a blank face for a while and then they realise 'ahhhh he IS speaking English, I think' ... Strange though, I have no problem understanding the many US accents, well the Southerners are a little hard at first!
I went through the M-1 Visa process (painless), then the K-1 (a few bumps), and then the AOS (and all that goes with it, EAD, AP, etc).
Just recently we went through the lifting of the conditions, and it was quite easy, as we didn't even have to have an interview (having our first baby together in the interim probably helped!). Glad this process is pretty much over now!
