Our Story
Sveta and I met online through an international dating site. After 7 months of correspondence we finally met in March 09, fell more in love and knew we were destined for each other. We were engaged on March 12, 2009. On my return home I immediately hired an Immigration attorney. Four months later and nothing to show for it, I fired him. We decided to do it ourselves. Like many others we talk constantly using Skype over lunch, and marathon talks on the weekends, several text messages a day, and daily emails. I returned for 2 weeks in Sept 09 to continue our walks around Kiev and her hometown of Sumy, where I was introduced to her mother, son, cousin and friends. Being apart is very difficult, but as with all things, patience patience patience. She is worth it.
Mailed our I-129F package on Nov. 13th and received the Notice to Action on the 17th.
Received Approval Notice I-797 today, Feb 10!!!! I can't believe it! We were expecting another 3 or 4 months! Thanks to all who supported us, and offered tips and suggestions with our documents!!! We are very very happy!!!
