Our Story
Hiller and I met while I was volunteering as an art therapist in Uganda for 6 months. We are both members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon), and we met while attending a local congregation in Kampala. I don't remember the first time I met him (he does!!), but I remember the second time, as we happened to board the same taxi on our way to a church conference! It was Hiller's gorgeous smile that first drew my attention...and his soft-spoken voice. That first evening he came with another friend and me to a local pork joint in Kabalagala, and afterwards we boarded the same taxi again, since we lived in the same direction. We made plans to get together the following weekend and the rest is history! We started dating but I think I really started to fall in love with him when I saw him coaching football (soccer) to little kids as part of Kampala Kids League. He is an amazing and patient coach and so good with kids, but more importantly, he is the most humble man I know. After a lot of waiting and Skyping and some visits in between he got his visa and we were married in Boston March 28th 2009!!! Now he is going to school and involved in all things soccer and I continue me work as an art therapist and counselor. Love him more than ever :)
