We met in Chile in September 2006 while doing a counseling school. We spent alot of time together, surfing, playing music, and walking on the beach (tons of walking...haha...), and started dating in November 2006. We decided right away that we were in love and wanted to get married, so we got engaged in January 2007. We were tempted to get married right away, but decided to look at visa options so Esteban could come and get to know my (Damara) family in Seattle. It's been an incredibly long wait, as I first had to apply for US citizenship (I was born in Canada, but have been a permanent resident of the US since I was like 9), and then apply for the K1 fiance visa. So, now we're in the final stages of waiting (we just received notice the approved application has been transferred to Santiago...so it's just waiting for the interview).....and it feels like its never going to end...
We have had to endure incredibly long seperations (first for 9 months, now for 6 months and counting)...but through it all have fallen more and more in love with each other, and have had a chance to get to know each other on such a deep and intimate level...
So now we're just wishing and hoping and praying that the final stages go quickly, and we can finally get married.....
