  1. @appleblossom Thank you for the info!
  2. Hi! Has anyone recently activated their green card and received their SSN card? I’m trying to get an idea of how long the process takes right now to get the SSN card. In the past 2 years I saw some 2 weeks to months... Perhaps @appleblossom ? Thank you!
  3. @sapkde9 No there is not! I had 2 huge accordion plastic files organizers! I don't know about that specific organizer, but people had bunch of different ones.
  4. @SAHK It'll be listed on your IL like this: "- Your sponsors (petitioner, household members and joint sponsors) may be required to provide updated or more information for you to present at your interview, such as: - Other income - Assets - Proof of current employment" In my case as I'm Eb1, I'm self-sponsoring so I had to bring these proofs myself. I would bring proofs for yourself and from your sponsor. Basically proofs that you will be able to sustain yourself and your family financially (recent paychecks, bank account statements, proof of assets, etc.)
  5. @Emmajapan Yes. It's a work visa. So they want to make sure you're still doing the work you are getting this visa for.
  6. Hi everyone, I had my interview yesterday, and we were accepted! 🎉 We’ll receive our visas once the new fiscal year begins (Oct 1). The officer said we should get our passports back with visas around the first or second week of October. The process went really smoothly. Just as others mentioned, the staff were very kind, helpful, and efficient. Don’t bring a computer or electronics. You can only leave small items in a tiny locker that fits just a phone. Here’s how it went step by step: At the first table, they check that you have all the required original documents. You’re called to a window to hand in originals + copies and answer a few simple questions (confirming current address, new U.S. address for green card delivery, etc.). Fingerprinting at another window. Final window for the actual interview. Documents requested: Passport Birth certificate Marriage/divorce certificate(s) Police certificate Old U.S. visa info 2 U.S. passport photos Employer’s recent job offer letter (if applicable) Financials (listed on IL, but not asked in my case) I-797 approval notice (she said it was okay if you didn’t have it, but was glad I did) They want both originals and photocopies (including the passport bio page). If you’re missing copies, they can make them for you, but they prefer you have them. One update from what’s written online: they asked if you’ve lived in any country for more than 6 months (not 12 months as stated on the website). I'm assuming this question is for the Police certificate. Interview questions included: Have you ever committed a crime? Have you ever overstayed in the U.S.? Any issues crossing the border? What do you do for work? Where will you live in the U.S./what's your plan? The entire process took about 2.5 hours. Hope this helps! Feel free to ask me any questions.
  7. @T.J Hi TJ, Montreal’s wait isn’t messy, just long (about a year). All EBs are in one line, so it’s orderly. If your PD is current, you should get an interview letter soon. My DQ was July 2024, and I got an IL in the last batch. Expedites in Mtl are rare (medical only). As Mam51 mentioned, quotas reset Oct 1. They usually send letters monthly, though sometimes skip a month. So expect your letter probably in the next month, or 2-3 months. Hope this helps!
  8. Annual Limit Reached in the EB-1 Category https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/News/visas-news/annual-EB-1-limit-reached-2025.html#:~:text=Specifically%2C INA 203(b)(,remainder of the fiscal year.
  9. @sapkde9 Congrats!!! Such great news! Per your last question, personally I would call the medical office and ask. These medical offices are really used to it, they do so many, so they probably know. The ones in Montreal were super knowledgable when we went. Also it depends if they send the results electronically or if they give you a sealed envelope at the end. Cheers!
  10. @Emmajapan Just added you to the spreadsheet thanks!
  11. @Emmajapan Expedite in Montreal are really rare. They are usually only for medical reasons. It's stated on the government website that a job offer is not ok for expedite.
  12. @Mano17 Hi Mano! You are right that you need new Police Clearance if it's going to hit 2 years for the interview. For each family member. It says so when you register and on the links in the letter. For the other countries I don't know, but there is a lenghty paragraph on that specific subject on the governement website link in the letter. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/MTL-Montreal.html#pre_interview_checklist All the best!
  13. @mmountain Yes, it would be easier if you convince sapkde9 to give you full editing access so you can maintain the original and keep everything organized. The dates are not even organized anymore. I’ll be out of VJ soon, so I’ll let you take the lead on what you think is best.
  14. @mmountain Yes the “June 2025 Copy Montreal EB Visas” is the one I created because the original was not being updated/in disorder for months and we didn't have full editing access. The original is a bit of a mess by now and seems to have incorrect info added since. It's owned by sapkde9. You can look at the version history to see who changed what. Cheers!
