  • Our Story
I signed a 2-year contract in 2018 to teach at an international school in Honduras. I joined an expat group before moving here... and he added me as a friend on FB. Our story started as a friendship. The first month I was here, he took me to a small town for sightseeing outside the city. In 2020 2 weeks before COVID we entered a romantic relationship. Engaged in April 2022, and married September 22. Right now we await our paperwork as we dream and plan our future in the States- an art studio and mobile coffee truck...

  1. WOW ok, now I am understanding better There were well over 200 IR1s in May- which explains it. Compared to only 12 F2As. Thanks! You are a gem!
  2. Thank you- Where are you seeing these stats? I find in interesting that they are so far along with Family Preference when San Salvador is still working on Jan 22 cases for Family Preference.
  3. Does anyone have any insight on why an embassy would schedule appointments faster for Family Sponsored Perference Categories faster than Immediate Relatives Categories? I understood that Immediate Relative categores are priority in line but it appears this is not the case at the embassy in Tegucigalpa. Also, they have been stuck on Feb- 25 DQed for the last 3 months, while other appointments - Family Sponsored is moving forward with no problem-- screenshotes attached. I have looked at other embassies, and they are not scheduling Family Preference that quickly.
  4. Yes Senators and Representatives can help. I had a friend that was in the same situation and she started getting answers after she contacted their offices. it all depends on how much they actually want to help.
  5. I have a friend whose husband had this problem when he first arrived. She warned me about this being a potential problem. It is because the SSN appears to belong to a "baby" because it is so new, and why would that "baby" need an account. She was part of a small regional bank, so they resolved it right at the bank. I would go to another branch of the bank, and find someone that is patient, knows what they are doing and can help you through the process.
  6. You have to submit financial documents to USCIS. It's part of the process- no way around it, and your wife has to be involved in the documents. Unfornate that this has been kept secret from your family. As said above was a DNA test invovled? Sounds like you are confident he is your son. There is no way to go through this process "secretly".
  7. This right here. Whenever you set boundaries with someone and they leave or start going crazy, that is a bad sign.
  8. Is this what you are trying to tell yourself for comfort? Wrongful convictions do indeed happen, but not often. If he told you it was wrongful, he probably lied about that too. Please take the advice of everyone on this forum, get help and move on. You are young and can find real love.
  9. Ghosting during this process is unacceptable. You deserve better than this nonsense. Take some time to heal. As others have said, block him, and move on. You are only 26- don't play with someone who does not want kids.
  10. No more stamps. My husband asked the same question when he entered on his visitor visa and it was all digital now.
  11. I could'nt find mine either and left it blank. My I 864 still got approved.
  12. Wow... That is they least they can do considering all the money we pay, glad to see they are making some progress.
  13. This right here might have caused a red flag. Not including the form in the first packet and then sending it without a signature after the RFE might have triggered suspicion. This process can be stressful, but it is important to comb through all forms line by line to ensure everything is done properly. This administration is not playing. I would follow the others' advice and get a lawyer.
  14. Hello Everyone! What a week!!! Earlier this week, I received a job offer for a teaching contract in the U.S. I had been teaching in Honduras for the last 7 years, and of course, my income did not count for the Sponsorship. Then today, my husband and I received notification from the NVC that we are documentarily qualified. We had a couple of hiccups when they could not open a couple of files we sent, but we made it. I will start employment on August 4th, and the email they sent says we can continue loading documents while we wait. I will load some contracts that I signed this coming week, as well as paycheck stubs I receive, when I start work in August. There is about a 3-4 month wait for an appointment in Tegucigalpa. My questions... Do I fill out a new I-864 when I begin my work? How do I remove the joint sponsor if we choose to do that before his appointment? I think there is a letter they can write? Thank you!
