  1. Thank you! We've seen that. But they (local government) claim they only provide the police certificate to citizens of that country who present themselves in person..despite what it says on the State.gov website. (We've tried twice.) We could go to that country and try, but there is a Level 4 Do Not Travel in place.
  2. Thanks, @Benny1337 Unfortunately, because my husband did aid work in an African nation, which is now highly unstable, they require a police certificate from there. There was no heads up from NVC - they accepted what we provided to become DQed after all. The certificate can't be obtained - we tried multiple times. Anyway, all the rules of everything/processes are detailed in the Foreign Affairs Manual (FAM), and there are some workarounds that we are pursuing. πŸ₯΄
  3. Hi all - one final crazy question before tomorrow. 🫠 The Embassy website says no electronic devices allowed, which a phone technically is. I see in one earlier message, Thomas took his phone in. Can anyone confirm if phones are allowed into the Embassy/interview? Thank you!
  4. Thank you so much!! The various websites said different things, and we aren't the best at planning... πŸ˜†
  5. Seeing these messages made me realize we have to focus on this. Besides COVID and influenza, what other vaccines are required? I see this list: Mumps; Measles; Rubella; Polio; Tetanus and Diphtheria Toxoids; Pertussis; Haemophilus influenzae type B; Hepatitis B; COVID-19; and Any other vaccine-preventable diseases recommended by the Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices (ACIP). But what does any other vaccine-preventable disease mean? Rabies is on that list for example. πŸ˜•
  6. To all those who have been through the embassy in Brussels recently for CR 1/IR 1 visa - just want to confirm. We have our interview next Friday. My husband is the Belgian citizen - the US sponsor does NOT need to attend the interview and/or be at the embassy too? Can you go and wait in the waiting room at all? Thank you!
  7. That's great news! Congratulations! πŸ˜€ It seems like things have really sped up at the embassy!! Our interview is one month before you in May!
  8. Hi! We got our interview letter yesterday for a day in April. But it's a date we cannot go, so we emailed them asking to change it. No response as of yet.
  9. I think we all heard from them today. We are Dec 04! Great news for all! But probably just another queue now. πŸ™„ πŸ˜†
  10. Can you please update when you do hear back? We are Dec. 04!
  11. Thank you so much for the updates! Happy for you both! At this rate, it seems like we should hear from them in late April/May! πŸ˜€
  12. Thank you both for posting when you were DQed. Our date for that was December 04, so this is a good gauge for time! We also had no idea about the backlog in Brussels. 😞
