  1. Hello, I have been googling but couldn't find much information. Basically my fiance got a do not reply email that there is a change in the interview dates for k-1 visa and to check online at ais.usvisa-info. I had originally scheduled her for ASC and Consular interview at Rio while doing her medical at SP because there were no opening at Rio. The original ASC date was Aug 28th and Consular date was Sept 3 2024. After logging into the site and checking the instructions print out page, the date of the Consular interview changed to Sept 24th 2024 but there is no ASC interview date. I went to reschedule section and it just says Busy at the moment for the Consular schedule section and ASC is entirely grayed out. My question is, is this normal? Why would they change without asking? Is it possible they waived the ASC interview even though every visa applicants needs to attend one? Thank you!
  2. Hello, I am currently filling the I-134 and my fiance is filling her DS-160. We have a newborn who is born in Brazil and has his passports approved at the US consulate but have no received the passport due to recent floods in the Porto Alegre. Questions: Should our son be listed as a dependent under her DS-160 and in i-134 beneficiary's income's "Total Number of Dependents" section? I am putting no income or asset for her. Or should our son be list as a dependent under my "petitioners" income? Under Part 3 of I-134 Assets, do I have to list every asset such as 401k, taxable accounts, online high yield accounts and etc, or is my employer income information is enough? My employer income is higher than the US poverty income limit. Thanks in advance! Jon
  3. Thanks for the replies. So the 4 month validity is not up to me and it depends on their handling speed? Basically it is not in my control and if 4 months pass, they will extend it.
  4. Hello all! I (petitioner) received notice of action with receipt number and A number with notice date of 4/10/2024 with validity from 4/10/2024 to 8/9/2024. What is this validity date for? The NOA2 Letter says petition has been approved and sent the visa petition to the NVC. It says I will be notified by mail with unique case number. I never got a physicals mail but received an email on 5/7/2024 from the NVC with an attached word doc. In the word file the title shows K1-FTP and reads "The National Visa Center (NVC) received your fiancé (e)’s/spouse’s approved I-129F petition from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). NVC will now forward the petition to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. Please note that the transfer process can take several weeks. The U.S. Embassy or Consulate will contact your fiancé (e)/spouse when they are ready to process his or her petition." What are my next steps? I am in the process filling out the I-134 and my fiance is filling out the DS-160 but won't submit yet. Are we supposed to wait until the US Embassy or Consulate to contact my fiance before she fills out DS-160, schedule medicals, etc? Or is she suppose to complete the DS-160 and wait for email from consulate? Thanks in advance! Jon
  5. Hey Boiler, Thanks for the reply: I reside in the US and have bought with me 5 years worth of w-2 from my past employers with me and I hope that is enough because I saw somewhere asking for 5 years. The translation part is on the DS-11 form itself shown here: https://eforms.state.gov/Forms/ds11_pdf.PDF Because I reside in the US but my son is born in Brazil, can I apply for SSN in the US or should I do it the way as if I (my son) will live in Brazil for awhile until my girlfriend's K-1 is processed? Do I need to file for SSN before my consulate interview like the DS-11 or can that be done at a later time? Thank you, Jon
  6. Hello everyone! I had just submitted the eCRBA form online for my newborn son and paid the $100 fee along with scheduling the appointment at the US consulate in Porto Alegre Brazil. My understanding is that I should also complete the DS-11 form for my newborn before attending the appointment. Any tips for things to expect or bring before interview at the US consulate? Are there any tips on filling out the DS-11 for newborn CRBA? Do I need to apply for his social security? I just received his birth certificate from the Brazilian government but how do I translate it to English as required in page 2 Section D under "Claiming Citizenship through Birth Abroad to At Least One U.S. Citizen Parent"? This is the link I have been using for eCRBA in Brazil: https://br.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/citizenship-services/ Thanks in advance, Jon
  7. Thanks for all of your replies. It is very helpful. We we leaning toward K-1 but after reading more, CR-1 seems to be better. Why is it hard for her to get a tourist visa to visit the US? Is it because of the unborn child or will it negativity affect the CR-1 process? Did the US make visas (B) a lot harder or longer period to process?
  8. Hello All, My girlfriend of Brazilian Citizenship is currently pregnant in Brazil and is due in April. Which visa choices do I have? I have looked into K-1 and CR-1 but not sure which is best or if there are other options. Best case is for her to be able to give birth in the US under my insurance plan which means we need to get married quick in the US before January. Second option is to give birth in Brazil and then file for visas (not sure which for baby). I would like us to be together as soon as possible. Things I want to note that might be crucial: I work and live in New Jersey, USA while she resides in Brazil. We are both single and never married. She has never applied for US visa and currently getting her Brazilian passport as I assume she will definitely need it. I am not sure if applying for visa to visit my family in the US would affect her k-1, cr-1, or other applications. What can I do now to jump start the process? Is there something I can do for the unborn child in the mean time? Is there something I can do for my girlfriend in the mean time to upstart any process? Thank you all!
