Our Story
Cody and Hilkka met in April 2004 through a mutual friend. We both attended the same high school and graduated two years apart. We moved in together in January 2006 and have lived together ever since. We got engaged in May 2006 and married February 3, 2007. Hilkka was on a student visa which was valid for the duration of her studies. She was told by immigration that she would be able to return home to South Africa to assist her sick mother on her student visa. Once she arrived in South Africa, she was told that her visa was no longer valid and that her adjustment of status application was no longer valid. She spent 11 months in South Africa waiting for a new marriage visa and finally got one. In the mean time we had our first baby. Nikole Anne born June 3, 2008. Hilkka and Nikki arrived back home in August 2008 and now we're waiting for the AOS process.
