Would you recommend sending a letter to the field office requesting it? Looks like it worked for OP and many others. I'm scared if I send it they'll cancel the interview and put me back in the queue, and for example if I show up just for the N-400 and I tell them I have a pending I-751 they'll have to take a look at it, either that day or in the following days/weeks. I just don't want to make the wrong move and prolong this even further. It can go in any direction either way I suppose.

Congrats!! Did you receive the interview notice for both N-400 and I-751 at the same time? I got my N-400 scheduled not even a week ago, but no movement on my I-751, so I'm worried it won't be a combo. I heard sometimes the field office calls a few days ahead to let you know, or sends additional mail. I did wait almost twice as long as those applying after 5 years, so I'm hopeful.

Hi all, I finally got scheduled for the N-400 interview a few days ago, 7 months after filing. I also have an I-751 case pending. My interview letter does not mention anything about the I-751, and there is no change in the case status for it online. I did not upload a cover letter with my N-400 application, however I did upload the I-751 NOA (extension letter). I keep reading here people advise on sending a letter to your field office requesting a combo interview. Does anyone have a sample letter I could use a template? And what do you write on it? Can someone here give me more insight into MSC I-751 processing? Is it super far behind other service centers? Curious if cases from mid to late 2021 are getting approved at all, with or without the interview? My I-751 has been at MSC since early November 2021, so about 20 months. Also have a pending N-400, no movement on that either, 7 months and counting. Getting angsty with the wait so just trying to get as much info as possible.

Thank you for this. My only points of reference are this website and the USICS website processing times, both of which indicate I should've already got the interview. Didn't know it's still common for them to take that long. Gonna sit tight for the next few months then and try not to think about it.

It's really reassuring to know that I'm not the only one. Keeping my fingers crossed for you! I know I have nothing to complain about, especially since I got the extension letter, but the uncertainty and indefinite waiting surrounding it all can really wear down on you sometimes.

In my case it didn't speed up anything. Filed I-751 in Nov 2021, been at MSC/NBC since. Applied for naturalization in Oct 2022, finally got a fingerprints appointment for I-751 and N-400 (two separate ones, mind you), and both cases have been stuck ever since. Waiting for I-751 for ~20 months, waiting for N-400 for ~7 months. My FO processing time is 8.5 months, but I've seen everyone else get their interview much sooner. People who field after me are already done with it, so kind of losing hope this will get resolved any time soon, and that I'll have to send inquiries etc. in early 2024...

Nope, still patiently waiting. A few days from hitting the 6 month mark. Let me know if you hear anything! There's very limited info I can find on Santa Ana, but it seems people usually don't wait this long, so I'm starting to think I'll be waiting for a very long time, probably because I applied under the 3 year rule. Are you also expecting a combo interview, or did you apply under the 5yr rule? Those seem to be moving faster at Santa Ana.

I keep seeing posts here from everyone getting approved so quickly after filing and it's really disheartening. I know it's just bias because the people that get approved insanely quick (weeks to a few months) are the only ones posting. Would be great to hear from others who have been waiting for a longer time too. So, how long have you been waiting for the interview? Nope, still waiting. Pending I-751 since November 2021, N-400 pending since November 1, 2022. It's really disheartening seeing even like December and January filers already getting scheduled, but I'm reminding myself it's probably just survivorship bias. People will post if they get a really quick interview, otherwise they won't. I'm presuming there's more of us still patiently waiting. My FO doesn't seem to be the quickest either (Santa Ana). Almost 5 months and counting. Usually Visajourney estimates are a good gauge, mid-September is getting processed right now, so I'm not going to hold my breath for at least another month and a half.
