  1. I'm curious what happened with your green card. Did you receive it?
  2. Just a quick update: My wife had her interview yesterday and was approved! The officer told her at the interview that her visa would be issued. We had initially applied using my assets as my income isn't enough, but even though I showed more than enough liquid cash assets they said I needed a joint sponsor. Thankfully I had already uploaded the joint sponsor into the system along with supporting documents so they had everything they needed. We brought a printed version but they didn't need it. A quick note: We added our joint sponsor AFTER the interview was scheduled so there was no option of adding a joint sponsor in the CEAC system. I simply uploaded all the documents in the sponsor's section and they accepted that. I hope this helps.
  3. Haha, yes you're right. I'll go with the joint sponsor as it seems to make more sense to me as well. Thank you very much.
  4. I was told that since I'm using that address as my permanent residence in the United States that she would count as a household sponsor. Ok if you're right I need to get her to fill out an i-864 instead. Are you 100% positive on this? If so it means I have to bug my mom to sign and scan some more docs 🙂
  5. They are fine to sponsor (it's my mom). On another note, I've been told that she is to fill out a household member i-864a as she is living in my intended address in the US, however she isn't living with us overseas at the moment. Is this correct?
  6. My wife's interview is next week and we are going to try to get approved based upon my assets. We have a backup household member (my mother) ready with filled out documents and her financial evidence. We haven't uploaded them to CEAC as I've heard conflicting rumors about the pros and cons of doing this. Does anyone know if it's fine just to bring the physical documents to the embassy instead of uploading? Or is it better to upload even if we're not sure if we'll be using a household sponsor. Thank you.
  7. Yeah I'm going back and forth about uploading it as my income doesn't meet the requirements, but I have assets that more than cover the difference. I was DQ'd with just a note that my income didn't meet the requirements. I'm planning on sending my wife to the interview with the household sponsor i-864a and the new i-864 plus supporting documents just in case they don't accept my assets.
  8. I've heard that sometimes they won't consider them unless they are uploaded. Did you find out anything more about this in your research?
  9. Our case is DQ'd and awaiting an interview next week. So we currently have TWO i-864s: 1. The first one is my i-864 by itself that I originally submitted to the NVC. My income is NOT enough on this but it was DQ'd based upon assets making up the poverty difference. For the sponsor's address I originally put my address abroad and NOT my United States address. However I put my Domicile as the United States and submitted a document proving my ties to the United States and to my United States address. 2. The second i-864 is for a BACKUP to go along with an i-864a household sponsor, who is my mother living at my permanent address in the United States. On this i-864 I was instructed by an attorney to put my address in the United States so that it matches with my household sponsor living at that address. I'm not sure what is correct for both of these. I'm currently living overseas and NOT at the United States address, however that is my INTENDED address after I move my family back to the United States. If any one has any experience with this I'd be grateful.
  10. I'm curious as to what happened. Did your husband submit the joint sponsor paperwork at the interview?
  11. Pushbrk, my 2022 tax return info does NOT qualify because of tax deductions. However, my 2023 income shown on my paystubs more than qualifies, however I'm self-employed. I have assets in savings accounts and investment accounts in the US that that well make up the difference, which I declared on my i-864, however I keep reading that they don't accept assets.
  12. Yes I've been DQ'd. The case is currently at the embassy. My spouse's interview is in a couple weeks. There's no option to add a co-sponsor in the CEAC dashboard anymore.
  13. I received a notice in my CEAC dashboard that my income was insufficient for sponsoring my spouse. Therefore I'd like to add a household sponsor to my account, however there is no option to do so. I emailed the embassy about adding the sponsor, but I received a form response about uploading documents. Has anyone had this experience? Should I upload the household member i864a, the new i864a, and supporting documents to my own documents area? Or should I just bring them to the interview? Thank you
