  1. Hi everyone I received my EAD card in the mail today and despite all the correspondence I’ve received from USCIS being with my changed name after marriage (K1 immigrant) the name on my card has my old name on it. I know I can send it back for error correction but I’ve heard so many horror stories of it taking several months for people to get replacement cards. I have a US ssn and a US issued drivers license with my new legal name on it and my original passport with my birth name on it. Would this be a problem if I apply for a job and the name on the card doesn’t match my ssn/drivers license? Since I can prove my identity with old ID with birth name on it I’d really like to avoid sending the card back and waiting god knows how long before I’m able to seek employment Thank you!
  2. At this point not really. Most flights from Denmark go through JFK, Newark, Minneapolis or Atlanta. I've had super bad experiences with JFK before so would like to avoid that if possible
  3. Hi everyone, My K1 visa got issued last week and my fiancé and I are trying to plan the flights for when I get the visa. I'm a little bit unsure on what to plan for in terms of layovers at the US port of entry because I keep getting conflicting info regarding how long it takes going through customs on a K1 visa. Some say it can take a couple of hours and some say it doesn't take much longer than flying in on an ESTA or regular tourist visa? Anyone got experience with this and what should I expect? Thank you!
  4. Basically title, my fiancé and I are waiting for the US embassy to process my K1 visa and we're looking at flight prices. One way tickets to the US are around $1600 were as round trip tickets are $950 or less. Is it gonna be an issue if I buy a round way trip and only use one part of it? I don't really care if the airline sanctions me but more concerned about the customs officer seeing my round way trip and getting funny ideas.
  5. Hi my fiancé and I just got notice our case got received by NVC (haven’t shipped to the embassy yet we got the update through inquiry) but our NOA2 said it’s valid until 16th of June this year. Is this something we should be worried about and can we file somewhere to get the noa2 validity extended? Thanks
  6. Congrats! I see your NOA2 date is the same as ours so hopefully we hear soon too
  7. Could you elaborate a bit more on how to file for an extension? I sent out another public inquiry request this morning and praying for good news but not getting my hopes up
  8. Yeah that's exactly what we did. The response we got after that was that they would contact USCIS but will not give us any running updates so we're still completely in the dark here until we one day get a response
  9. We're basically in the same boat. Haven't heard anything from NVC since we got our NOA2 on Feb 17th. We tried public inquiry then emailed them after 30 days. Sent a second email after 60 days to the research@nvc email and they told us they still hadn't received anything but would look into it. We're getting close to almost 90 days now without any updates from NVC and it's so frustrating
  10. We finally got our approval! One of the 14 in 33000. I’m so excited!!
  11. Thank you for all the data you're sharing, it's a big help! If I may ask, is there a reason that Dec 25-26th is omitted, our receipt date is the 26th so was wondering what that was about
  12. Hi, I recently moved as part of a new job, my fiancé (Petitioner) and I (Beneficiary) filed our I-129F in december 2021 and we're still waiting for USCIS to look at our case. We're a bit stumped on whether or not we need to notify USCIS about my new address since the form we sent in has my now old address on it. We've searched online a lot and really can't find any proper information about it, only info we find is if the petitioner move and not the beneficiary. We also tried EMMA on the USCIS site and she was (unsurprisngly) not very helpful either. Do we need to take any sort of action here or do we get another opportunity to confirm the mailing address when it moves to the local embassy? Thanks in advance!
