Hi, My wife was filling out her AIW and made two mistakes: - Mistakenly selected Black & Latin on the race part of the AIW form instead of selecting one race. - Also made a mistake in terms of weight, and had to scratch out an entry in kg in lieu of putting the right weight into the pounds entry. Think this will mess up our USCIS Biometric appointment? Also, all we've got to bring is the I-797, her passport, and that's it, right? Thanks.

Hi, thanks! Yeah, I sent in a payment by check, and sent the entire I-485 Packet via FedEx. It was confirmed that the packet arrived, but I guess I was a little surprised they've yet to deposit the check. But maybe thinking it had been accepted after a month is a little optimistic? Thanks!

Hi All, My fiancee and I are in the process of finishing up the K1 process, with the hope that she will be able to come to the States this coming year. I have a steady (decently-paying) job, but a bit in the way of credit card debt. My fiancee is very smart, but hasn't yet finished college, and I was hoping that she might be able to attend a local university after getting her permanent residency, with the assumption that she might get it in 8-14 months. Now, however, I'm seeing that it could take her anywhere from 12-20.5mos to get her AOS, and I'm just feeling extraordinarily daunted by everything that lies ahead, particularly given that from what I've read, a person waiting on their AOS can apply to get a work authorization, but there is no such similar authorization for public college loans. I kind of feel like my financial runway just got significantly more complicated. Does anyone have any experience with this, or any strategies to get student loans while waiting on the AOS? My plan was to have her continue with her credits at a community college before finishing up at a 4 year. Thanks.

Hi All, My fiancee was filling out this form here per the instructions following the DS-160, etc., https://ais.usvisa-info.com/pt-br/iv/users/sign_in and when she goes to pay, it constantly says that there are no new dates available and that you have to wait to pay and (I assume) to schedule an interview, etc? Does anyone know how long it takes for those new dates to appear on the website, and how frequently said site is updated? Thanks!

Hey All, Sorry, last annoying question -- when you have to give the CBP, USCIS, et. al your updated address at which your Beneficiary/Fiancee will be staying, do you also have to give any kind of proof of lease/utilities for the address at which you were previously staying? (The one that you'll be leaving?) Thanks!

Sorry, can you clarify what you mean by USC? Like, basically, could you (as the sponsor) have put one address on the K1/Visa app, move to an apartment afterward, then provide the new apartment's address/lease documents, etc. to the port of entry folks and to the online AR-11 USCIS address change and have your Fiancee/Beneficiary be ok? Thanks!

Hi All, After your fiancee receives their visa, but prior to them setting foot on U.S. soil, is there any limitation on when you, yourself, can move? Like, should you wait until they come to the States before moving, or can you just move to a new place before they come and update where you've moved later on? Thanks!

Hi, We got our NOA2 back in early June, and I just checked in with the NVC given that my Beneficiary spouse has yet to receive her introductory packet/we have yet to receive confirmation that they have sent our K1 application to the Embassy in her country. Nevertheless, the NVC contact gave me an invoice number and a beneficiary id. According to the stats on VJ, it says it currently takes about 67 days to send the introductory packet to Beneficiaries on average. Given that we have now received the invoice number and beneficiary ID, should I direct my Beneficiary fiancee to begin filling out the DS-160 online, or should I just be patient and wait for the information packet from the US Embassy in her country? The approval notice (NOA2) that we received says that it is valid until October 8th, and so given that timing, I'm a little concerned about what happens if she doesn't have an interview by that date. Thanks!

"So your beneficiary should put whichever address is current at the time of DS-160 submission. If your address changes by the time of the interview, your beneficiary should update the DS-160 info at the consulate on the day of the interview." I suppose my one worry is that all of my identifying info -- bank statements/accounts, address on file with my employer, etc., is still at my old address. If I move out by the time my fiancee has her interview, wouldn't it just be better to have her give them that same old address, so it's consistent with all of the proof of ongoing relationship/financial support documentation that I'm giving them to finish out the K1 process? My concern is that if I say, "hey, I sent you all this information that says I live at (old address)" and then, say, I move to an AirBnb by the time my fiancee has the interview"--I'm worried that I might just confuse them and raise suspicion if I give them my new address at an AirBnB, especially if I'm planning on going apartment hunting (for an apartment for the both of us) by the time she comes. Like is anyone actually going to check to see if I'm still at the old address? Sorry, I'm just trying to make this as simple as possible. I just don't think I can stay with family anymore by the time my fiancee has her interview.
