Our Story
Alla and I met online in January of 2007. We connected very well from our very first letters. I wrote to many other women and dated here in the U.S. for 6 months but my attraction for Alla continued to grow each day. I decided to go and visit her in May of 2007. I spent the 10 days in Sumy Ukraine with Alla and her family. We gardened at the dacha and we cooked together in her apartment. We took Alla's daughter Anastasia to the park and played games with her at the dacha. While I was in Sumy Anastasia had her formal pre-school graduation ceremony. She sang, danced and performed skits. It was a magical event. Alla escorted me back to Kiev for my flight home and we said our goodbyes.
After being home for a month I decided that I would call and discuss marriage with Alla's father. He is a good man and cares very much for his daughter. He told me that the entire family has noticed a change in Alla and how happy I have made her and he gave his blessings for our engagement. We submitted our paperwork in June 2007. I will be going back to spend a week with Alla in Kiev December 8th through the 14th. As you all are keenly aware the waiting is very difficult and nerve wracking. I am encouraged here by the stories of others that this will all end soon and successfully. Good luck to you all.
