I’d like to add a positive note to this conversation and encourage you to apply for the religious exemption if this is something you feel strongly about. My husband and I filed for the exemption for him and his kids. It was just approved after seven months with no interview. They have taken vaccines before but I have always been against vaccines, and so we explained that now that we’re together that’s how we chose to do it. I don’t think it matters what religion you are. The head of our religion has come out publicly encouraging people to take the Covid vaccine, but we explained our moral convictions against taking the vaccines. We included a letter explaining our position, a letter from my mom saying that my family of origin has always been against vaccines, a letter from our priest, and proof of opting for the vaccine exemption for the kids for school. I could be wrong but in my opinion I think this is quite a bit like filing for an exemption for the school vaccines -there’s fear mongering around it, but you have the right to refuse. Explain your position. Submit any proofs you have. And don’t worry.
