  1. As for Greece, she had an acquaintance on her visa form for her travel to Greece. My wife says she bought a round trip ticket from RUS to Athens BEFORE applying to show her intent to return. I think it was a 2-3 week itinerary. My memory is a little hazy, but I’m pretty sure we bought the Athens to Warsaw ticket ahead of time, before she flew to Greece but after she got her Schengen visa. We booked that flight for just over 48 hours AFTER she arrived in Greece. I THINK she bought a one way to Warsaw. We weren’t sure exactly how she’d be in Warsaw. I think she was there 4-5 days (Covid vaccine complications). After her easy 4 question interview she had to wait for her passport to be returned to her. She then bought a one way ticket back to RUS. After getting her passport back with visa, but before flying back to Russia, she could have flown directly to the US. Also since she was a K1, she had a sealed envelope with documents for immigration when she arrived in the US. You may not need them? Any other questions, just ask. Glad to be able to help!
  2. My wife, then fiancé got a Schengen visa in Pyatigorsk, she’s from southern Russia, Ossetia. She got a visa to go to Greece (tourist). After 24-36 hours in Greece she took an “excursion” to Warsaw for several days. After doing her K1 interview in Warsaw she flew directly back to Russia to put affairs in order before coming to USA. I believe she could have flown straight to USA after getting K1. She had to wait over the weekend to get her passport with visa the following week. I booked her an Airbnb in Athens, and Warsaw.
  3. Annie, BTW, welcome to the forums. I just noticed this was your first post. I've not kept up with the embassy statuses since my wife has been stateside 3 years already. But maybe you could try Turkey, Georgia, or Armenia? I don't think any of those require a visa to travel to (for Russians). When my wife did hers, she went through Warsaw. She got the Schengen visa. Flew from Russia to Athens, spent one night, then flew to Warsaw the next day. After her interview she was able to fly straight back to Russia from Warsaw. Wasn't too painful, but of course that was 3 years ago. Best of luck, Michael
  4. Annie, I just sent you a link in a personal message. cheers, Michael
