  1. I'm curious how often this happens. As a petitioner and derived citizen (got USC as a child from parent that naturalized), I didn't know my A-Number when submitting my I-129F so I left that field blank. I had no issues in the process, but I did notice later on, that the officer who reviewed the application, handwrote my A-Number on the form. So I guess they looked up my info in their system and found the A-Number (possibly also verifying citizenship)? Looking back, I guess I'm lucky I didn't receive a RFE.
  2. Is there a list of the busiest offices? I'm curious which ones are the worst in terms of wait times.
  3. It's amazing how slow I-751 is, but that N400 really boosts it. I would have expected the opposite...
  4. Not sure why this would be an issue. A few days mistake in employment start date? I don't think this is what they are concentrating on honestly. Yes ideally, everything should be accurate, but also this just an honest mistake, you are not trying to falsify anything for naturalization. I highly doubt this will ever come up. Relax and enjoy the finish line.
  5. Isn't that the status that comes up after they receive the I-751 and there are no immediate issues?
  6. Ah Thanks. In that case wondering whether to apply for passport first or SSA office, given have to mail out the certificate for passport.
  7. Yeah about SSA, given we marked the option for SSA update on N400, do we still have to go to SSA office to get it updated?
  8. We just had our combo I-751 / N400 interview today (filed N400 May 1). The interview itself was very laid back and friendly, I didn't expect it like this. It was mostly small talk honestly. The officer had already read through our files when we arrived and said the application looked so well organized and everything well documented that she was very impressed. Didn't ask for any evidence that we brought, all she asked for was wife's GC, wife's passport, and our driver licenses. All that printing of papers and organizing for nothing lol So after just some chit-chat and a couple questions, I-751 was approved. Officer let me stay for the N400 portion. The N400 related civics ( 5 Qs) / english question (write down something) were straightforward and officer was eager to approve my wife to be a citizen. Luckily, wife was able to do the oath ceremony two hours later and we left the building wife with naturalization certificate in hand! Really happy to have concluded this process and this interview experience was so nice and friendly!
  9. I would think USCIS is pretty familiar with derived citizenship, and I'm not sure what the error would have been, I can bring parents' naturalization certificates as well. Also, perhaps they should make N600 a requirement for filing K1 to begin with, but they accepted US passport as evidence of US citizenship.
  10. But given the US passport was issued years before our marriage isn't that enough to establish citizenship validity for the spouse? Per USCIS, US passport is valid proof for citizenship and I even have an A Number with which all of that can be verified in their system.
  11. Interesting, I wonder if it's just random or connected with the case.
  12. Having submitted around a 1 month ago, I'd say this is pretty quick! Though seems bunch of folks are getting quick N400 interviews scheduled from what I've seen.
  13. Just making sure - for the I-751/N400 combo interview based on 3 year marriage to US citizen, if US citizen spouse is derived citizen (so received citizenship as minor from naturalized parent), so they only have US passport as citizenship proof, bringing the US passport is enough to fulfill the requirement on the notice? The US passport was issued ~5.5 years ago. Thank you.
  14. Just received notice that our combo interview is scheduled in one month.
