Thanks for your replies guys. I re-submitted, and made my cover letter very clear with bolded statements explaining that I was eligible for the reduced fee, that I included my 2023 tax return as proof, details of how much the reduced fee amount is etc. Hopefully it doesn't come back again!

We filed jointly so it was a joint tax return. And no extensive travel abroad in the past 3 years. I suspect it's not worth trying to contact uscis to ask for more information 😕 my suspicion is it's just a screw up.

Thanks both. 1) Filing date is 11/01/2024. My 3 year anniversary of being LPR is 01/09/2025. So the USCIS date checker says I'm safely in the 90 days (which would have started 10/13/2024. 2) I know there's a potential issue with credit card payments being refused. But this rejection seems unrelated. I haven't moved at all since moving to the US.

My N400 was sent back to me, with the attached rejection notice. The rejection notice says: The payment amount is incorrect, or has not been provided. You have filed your application more than 90 days before meeting the continuous residence requirement. I'm confused because. I submitted a G-1450 Credit Card payment form, with the correct amount ($380). I qualify for the fee reduction, and completed part 12 of the N400 in order to request it (hence why I filed be paper/mail). I attached my 2023 Tax Return as proof of income. My GC 3 year anniversary is in early January, and I'm married to a USC spouse. The USCIS date checker suggests I am well within the 90 days of meeting the residency requirement. Should I just draft a cover letter that makes it even clearer, and resubmit the same packet (after double checking everything of course)? This reminds me of the RFE I got for a birth certificate during i485/AOS. I had already submitted my birth certificate, and think the RFE was an administrative error. I just resubmitted the same birth document and had no other problems.

Unfortunately my N-400 was rejected and mailed back to me . MY GC 3 year anniversary is in early January, so I filed ~60 days before meeting the continuous residence requirement. I completed Part 10 of the N-400 to request a fee reduction, attached 2023 tax return as proof of income, and submitted a G-1450 form with my credit card details with the correct amount of $380. I guess I will have to double check everything, and then mail it again with a new cover letter. Anybody have experience of dealing with this?

Mailed in my N-400 today! Mailed, rather than online as we qualify for the reduced fee based on income. Hoping that the citizenship process goes smoothly for all of us!
