This is how Carl proposed to me on a special day of April 3, 2007 in Coron, Palawan.

Banol Island in Coron has become an important place for Beng and I. On April 3, 2007, a hot and sunny afternoon, the beauty of the place was a witness to the promise of undying love and devotion as I was able to propose marriage to Beng. It was more a spur of the moment feeling, might be because of the place, and something magical pushed me to ask for this very important question, that will ultimately change the course of our relationship for the better. We were swimming together, when suddenly; I kneeled before her and asked her if she would marry me. Time stood still as I waited for her answer. Without saying a word, she gave me a sweet kiss, hugged me tightly and said I love you. I asked if it means yes, and she said so. Though I didn’t have the ring with me at that time, I was planning to give it to her during our dinner at the restaurant.
At around 8.30 in the evening of the same date, while we were having dinner at Sea Dive Restaurant, I asked somebody to take us a picture. She didn’t have any idea that I would be proposing to her again, and this time, I have the ring with me. When I finally knelt before her, she was blushing so much since everybody had their eyes on us, and some were even smiling, perhaps they were also taken by the sheer sweetness of the moment. I asked her again and she gave me a big yes and we kissed each other. We didn’t notice that we were already crying tear of happiness that even rendered us speechless. But I know that at the moment, words would never be enough to explain the joy that we felt, as we have finally committed to spend the rest of our lives together.
