Like many these days, Thi and I met online. I was actually looking for Vietnamese ladies in the US where I live. Instead I got lots of emails from ladies who live in Vietnam. I told them I was only interested in being penpals or friends so most didn't continuie emailing me. On July 23, 2006, I recieved an email with a subject line "Letter to Make the Acquaintance of Somebody" from Hang (Thi's online name) Not the usual email....... In fact I was immediately hit with the thought that here was a special woman.....As it turns out, Thi is very specail indeed. We talked and talked first thru emails, being friends was ok with her and she was willing to talk about anything and be honest about it. When we started to chat, we spent hours chatting. Over time we fell in love. Last December we decided to meet and see if our love for each other was more than just a online romance.
March 7, 2007 I flew to HCMC where she lives and stayed with her sister and her family for 2 weeks. Thi also stayed there as her sister house had a extra room for me and she stayed with her sister's daughter.
During my stay we decided to get engaged and start the K1 visa process when I got back to the US.
On May 26, 2007 I sent in the I-129F petition. I hope everything goes smoothly.
