  1. Hello, my parents were our joint sponsor and filled out I-864 to help us get in to the US. My husband and kids are now US citizens. On the instructions page it says "How Long Does My Obligation as a Sponsor Continue? Your obligation to support the immigrants you are sponsoring in this Affidavit of Support will continue until the sponsored immigrant becomes a U.S. citizen". Do i need to notify the government somehow so they are no longer on paper our sponsor?
  2. Multiple people on this thread 2) they are 5 and 7 3) basis for the kids US citizenship, I was born in the US.
  3. I opened up the other letter I got for my other daughter from her passport application and they're not asking for any evidence. She just needs a different passport picture.
  4. They don't qualify for Children born abroad, I don't see the point in proving where I lived when I don't meet the requirements to have them be children born abroad. They came in on a IR2 visa and became citizens through that.
  5. And I opened both letters and they're requesting evidence for only one of my daughters.
  6. Hi, I applied for their passport and received this letter back. Do i really need to send in all this evidence if they became citizens the day they crossed in to the US? Or can I just send their Canadian passport and show the IR2 visa inside of it? IMG_8044.pdf
  7. I am a US citizen that lived in Canada most of my life. (my children do not qualify for Birth Abroad). Married and had kids there. I moved back to the US with my family May 2021. My family came on the Ir-1/2 visas. I am now applying for passports for my girls. I've been told that they were US citizens right when they came in the country. I got this letter back after the passport application and I'm confused... do I really need to send in all this evidence or do I just send back the ir2 visa stamp page in their Canadian passport? 8. Thank you all for your thoughts. My oldest has special needs and we are going to be applying for some state help. The N600 seems to be necessary when applying for the state help.
  9. To clarify for everyone. I am an american citizen born in the US, moved at age 7 to canada. Married a canadian and had 2 kids. My 2 kids came in to the US as permanent residents. They do not qualify for getting citizenship from the birth abroad. I am getting them citizenship under Child Citizenship Act of 2000.
  10. I am applying for my Canadian daughters (I am a US citizen, we have lived here for 3 years), to get american citizenship through N-600. When I printed out the form and I got to section 6, I only need to fill out if I'm claiming US citizenship for them when my daughters were born. I am not doing that, so I didn't on the paper forms . When I went to file the form online and I came to this part it doesn't say it's optional. Can I skip this part? Or will they think my paperwork is incomplete?
  11. Hello, I am an american and brought my husband (on the IR1 visa) and 2 daughters (on the IR2 visa) to the US (from Canada). How long do I need to wait until I can apply for citizenship for my husband and 2 daughters? We entered the country 5-1-2021 and they all have their green cards. Thanks.
