We met online in October 2004. He first came and visited me in March 2005, proposed December 2005 and we got married June 6, 2006. We tried to file the I-130 at the Helsinki consulate in August but didn't get an appointment and were going to try again in February before the Feds decided to screw us all. We'll now be filing stateside and hope to have him here before I have to take a leave of absence at work to be with him :(
However, we've now decided to go ahead and file for a CR-1 visa, hoping to avoid the hassle of 1) getting him permission to work, 2) adjusting his status once he gets here and all that other fun stuff. It may take longer, but it seems like it will be easier.
