  1. Hello, I have applied for IR5 visa for my parents, they are already Documentarily Qualified by NVC, and now we are waiting on the Interview Letter to arrive. Our embassy requires the passport to be at least 8 months valid at the time of the visa interview. My mother's passport might be less than 8 months valid by the time of the interview. My questions are if I renew her passport now: Do I have to notify NVC or update the form DS260 before we go for the interview? Do I have to notify the US Embassy before we go for the interview? Will there be an issue if we go with a new passport to get the medical done? If I do not have to do anything, do I just go with the new and the old passport for medical, biometric, and the interview? Any insights on this will be quite helpful! Thank you so much in advance.
  2. My mom's passport is due for renewal and it will be under 8 months by the time she has her interview. My question is, if I go for renewal of passport, do I have to notify the consulate of a new passport, if so, how?
  3. Hello, My parents cases for IR5 visa has been DQ'd, and now we are waiting on the interview letters. In the meantime, they are are planning to visit Dubai for a couple of weeks. Do I have to notify NVC of this trip? If yes, how? DS260 update? Thank you.
  4. Just received DQ email. My submission date was Dec 1. Good luck all!
  5. Wait times appear to be going further down. The cases with submission date of 11/28 are being cleared today, which means that the case review time frames has gone down to 33 days. We should start seeing Dec updates soon. My submission date is Dec 1st, keeping fingers crossed. Good luck all!
  6. @Dil & Malar That is correct - two emails, one informing a status change, and another having DQ in the subject line. They both are sent at the same time. When you login to CEAC, you still might not see the status being changed to ACCEPTED or DQ in the Inbox. It usually takes 3-4 days to see an update on the CEAC website.
  7. I filled out everything digitally except the signatures and the date. Then, signed and dated with a black pen. Lastly, scanned the entire document into a PDF file (and not just stitching of the signed page) . Side note: if the document is over 2 MB the portal won’t even allow you to upload it, so I doubt your previous documents were over that size. Good luck!
  8. I had the same situation where I got a speeding ticket a few years before my N-400 interview. When the officer asked me during the interview, if I was ever cited, I said yes - for a speeding ticket. He further asked me how many miles was I driving over the limit, I just randomly said 5 miles. He said that is fine. I was approved then after. Do not worry, speeding citations are way normal than we think, they don't hold against you (unless it was a reckless drive leading to serious charges). Good luck!
  9. Thank you much! Going by how fast they are working now (~34 days), I think yours might be right around the corner, i.e. by the 1st week of Jan. Good luck!
  10. Yay! Received DQ email late last night, no update on the CEAC website yet. The CEAC tracker says "At NVC". Any reason to believe that the website status would be different from the DQ email in any case? Submission Date: 11/17
